The Mega Drive is my favourite of all of the retro gaming systems, I have so many great memories about it that I could rant on and on about tons of its games. This list is not necessarily final, ask me another day and MUSHA, Shinobi III, Alien Soldier, Streets of Rage 2 or 3, Thunderforce III, Contra Hard Corps etc etc, may be in my list instead. Strider and Castle of Illusion are keepers forever, though. There is so much nostalgia in this list below, for me.
Strider
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (Sega, 1990)
Gunstar Heroes (Treasure/Sega 1993)
Revenge of Shinobi (Sega 1989)
Gynoug (Masaya/ NCS Corporation 1991)
Rocket Knight Adventures (Konami 1993)
Midnight Resistance (Data East 1990)
**** Edit: Argh !!!!! I am such an idiot the topic is Mega Drive games on Virtual Console !!! I should learn to read, ignore my list it is not relevent to this board, apologies @StarBoy91 (many of these are Mega Drive games I would love to see on Virtual Console) ****
I am passionate about retro gaming, from antiquated consoles to the continuation of classics. Obviously I love PSone, and PS2 retro games. I blast my ears to breakneck melodic punk, gruff vocals and nimble alternative guitar hooks.
1. Streets of Rage 2 2. Beyond Oasis/Story of Thor 3. Shinobi III 4. Ristar 5. Earthworm Jim 6. Wonderboy in Monsterworld 7. Boogerman (I know I'm in the minority but I really enjoy this game)
Boogerman! Now that's a game I haven't played in forever. And I only played it for a short time; though it was amusing to see the character go down the toilet.
@SKTTR I found Monster Lair to be lots of pure and simple arcadey fun when I downloaded the PC Engine CD-ROM version off the Virtual Console, the music is often noted as being far superior to the Mega Drive version, too. Now that I have learnt how to read, here are my 7 favourite games, out of the ones I have downloaded off the Virual Console, though they are not all represenative of the best available (e.g. Gley Lancer), they are my current faves. That is because I have lots of original Mega Drive carts, plus PS2, PSP and PS3 Mega Drive compilations, so I buy more of the rarer Mega Drive games off the Virtual Console.
Gunstar Heroes
MUSHA
Revenge of Shinobi
Alien Soldier
Gley Lancer
Rolling Thunder 2
Mega Turrican

Why 7? Why not just round it out to 10? But anyhow, here you go. Keep in mind a couple of my favorites from Konami haven't yet been released(Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps).
Sonic 2 Gunstar Heroes Vectorman Streets of Rage 2 Mega Turrican Earthworm Jim(technically this also an SNES title, but hey, i love either version and this is the one that's on VC) Dynamite Headdy
In no particular order (other than the first one):
Sonic 3 & Knuckles (#1 Genesis game of all time) Sonic 2 Streets of Rage 2 Streets of Rage 3 TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist NBA Jam (and Tournament Edition) Aladdin
Oh wait, you want ones available on the VC. In that case:
Sonic 3 Sonic 2 Sonic 1 Streets of Rage 2 Streets of Rage 3 Vectorman Earthworm Jim
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
