Who got it? I've been playing it and I guess I got a lot better at games since I was 8 because I finally got past the level "Inside the Sand Crawler." I like the memories of playing this game.
...and it's also the first non-Nintendo-published game I got on Virtual Console.
I own the original cartridge. I love this game to death. Mos Eisley is one of the best levels ever, by the way.
Try out debug mode some time, you can choose who to play as, give yourself infinite lives, etc. It's sooo fun.
I own the original cartridge too. I bought it again because my SNES is hardly ever hooked up. (So many plugs, so little outlets) but does the debug menu mess up anything in the game or is it just for fun?
It's just for fun - and it's hell of a lot of fun. Stage select, powerup select, lives number, character select, etc.
And yeah, my SNES isn't hooked up anymore, so I'll be getting it sometime soon.
Yeah, I like having an N64 hooked up in my room, and even though I would want to switch, it is a MAJOR pain moving out my entertainment center to reach the plugs. So Virtual Console is very convenient.
The word on the street is the NES version is actually better. Anyone one back up that statement?

Super Star Wars Stage Skip, Any Character, and Debug Mode You need two controllers for this to work. When Start Game and Options appears, press quickly in this order: A,A,A,A,X,B,B,B,B,Y,X,X,X,X,A,Y,Y,Y,Y,B. Then press Start to start the game. The first notification that the code worked is that you can choose from three people, Luke, Han, and Chewie. For Stage Select, press Start then press Select on Controller two and you will finish the Stage immediately. Press L and R on Controller two to access the debug mode.
It may sound complicated, but after doing it a few times it's very easy to remember.
So is this an actually good platformer, or is it good for a licensed SNES game? I never picked it up and am considering it, but only if it's 2009-fun and not 1993-fun or whenever it came out.
@Panda: I played it to death when I had my SNES hooked up - it's easily one of my favorite SNES games. It's really, really good. Playing as Han Solo is awesome, and Luke's lightsaber is badass.
