At the Sega sale on the Wii Shop this december I downloaded Sonic 1, 2 and 3 for the Mega Drive for 500pts each. I have beaten them all in January (struggled with Sonic 2's last boss) and now I'm tempted to get Sonic & Knuckles since that would make 3 extra games in combination with Sonic 1, 2 & 3.
I'm also interested now in Sonic 4 WiiWare and other good Sonic classics.
@MrPinguy: If I recall correctly, you grew up with a Genesis, yes? So Sonic's probably been more your style from the get-go. I, on the other hand, had (and still have) a SNES, which was (at least in the games I tended to play) REALLY good about the ability to save your progress and replay levels you'd missed stuff in. So I've never had the patience to deal with games lacking those essential features without a little help.
Anyway, it's just the way I play. Seeing as the point of play is to have fun, I don't see a problem with that. You can poke fun at me for it all you like; it shan't change my playing methods or enjoyment of the games at all.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

Well technically, it's was an Mega Drive, but it's the same thing and it wasn't even mine, but that doesn't mean I never played regularly an NES, Master System or SNES at the time, and the fist console I actually own was an Game Boy, but yes I grown most of my time with an Mega Drive, no that it matters to the point anyway. I'm not against you having fun or making fun of you whatsoever.
Just pointing out that Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles have indeed an save feature, with an Zone select available when you beat the game. If your a person that just like to play games that save the progress, it's fine, I know that most classic Sonic game haven't one. I played several times games without an Save feature from 8-bit consoles to today, maybe that's why doesn't seems a problem for me. The "cheating" was just an joke, about the fact you wanted no-restriction save states, just that.
why are they releasing boring sonic games when they could be releasing Castlevainia Rondo of Blood and Catslevainia Re-Birth,what is it with this country releasing rubbish like they do.
How about these reasons?
1. Import VC games only come at certain points during the year, the next is several months away.
2. VC games have little basis on what WiiWare games get released. Sonic & Knuckles being released this week doesn't stop Castlevania Rebirth getting released on the same day. If it doesn't, then its just because Nintendo or Konami decided to delay it for longer.

@MrPinguy: Ah, all's well, then. You do understand why I'd get defensive when cheating was mentioned, of course. Such jokes can be hard to get the intent of (poorly worded...whateves.).
@Acerocksyourworld: It locks on to the other VC games, apparently. Not really sure how they programmed that, but it seems to be the case. It just occured to me that you'll probably have to have all the games on your console memory for it to work, though. LAME!

Downloaded it now, It have lock-on feature, you can change it every time you want it (however it resets the game you were playing). It works the same way as the original, just with an downside, Sonic 3 & Knuckles doesn't load the save data of Sonic 3 in the first time, an feature from the original. By the size of the thing it's highly probable that it comes with the 4 roms already... However you can only play the ones you have the respective VC to "Lock-on", obviously.
EDIT: Now I don't remember if the save Sonic 3 -> S3&K in the first time was in the original or it was just the ps2 and etc. collections... oh well...
There's only two Sonic games left they could release on the Virtual Console - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Sonic Spinball, both released on Master System in Europe (but not the U.S.), I think those two will come at some point just for the sake of getting more Sonic games on the VC.
Although I guess they could also release Game Gear games, I doubt they will.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
