A thread for discussing the upcoming game mentioned above.
I must say, I'm very impressed by what I've seen of this game so far. The graphics look gorgeous and the gameplay looks even better than the already great Sin & Punishment. I hope June 7th rolls around quickly so I can get my hands on this amazing looking game.
As of Right now let's just called it Sin & Punishment: Successor or Sin & Punishment 2 since there's a title deference between US and EU but anyway yeah Sin & Punishment 2 definitely a must have for anyone who likes Starfox. That reason alone is why it's my 3rd most wanted game right now (1st and 2nd being Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M).
Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
So, when 3rd party companies make rail shooters, people complain that there are too many rail shooters on the Wii, but when Nintendo makes one it is perfectly fine?
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Hmm? This game is by Treasure. You know, Gunstar Heroes, Guardian Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga? Them.
Also, I personally love rail shooters and always welcome more.

Actually most 3rd party rail-shooters are mainly: you pointing and shooting while the camera automatically moves for the entire time (mostly anyhow) and it gets dull fast, while Treasure can (make it Star Fox like, and), make it non-stop action and fun. Thats the difference.

And this is a sequel to one of the greatest shooters of all time.

The game is looking great so far and I can't wait. The only issues I have are the title (which is completely pointless to argue about, but it still makes me slightly angry for some odd reason) and the fact that there seems to be no classic controller option. I think the game will get too easy with pointer controls. Other than my pointless complaints, I NEED THIS GAME!!! (V8 Ninja cannot wait.)
@RWP The difference with Starfox and Sin & Punishment are that you're not only controlling a cursor. You're controlling a character as well. And if you sit in one spot you are asking to die. It's kinda like a game for the multi-tasker; you have to control your cursor and your character. It's not as simple as just pointing where to shoot and pressing the B button.

Yes, I'm hesitant to call it a rail shooter because that insinuates that you simply have to sit back and shoot. Not true. And I'm with you on the name: Star Successor is a stupid subtitle.

sounds like you never played the first one. it's already been said by other people, but the moment you start playing you'll think to yourself "what the hell is this!" it's completely unlike anything else out there. i'd go so far as to say that sin and punishment is probably the most taxing game ever made- your ability to multitask will be stretched just in order to shoot down the simplest of enemies while running between and jumping over obstacles in the first level. a few levels later you're flying upside down while fighting against a fleet of aircraft carriers that are firing thousands of missiles at you as waves of fighter jets try to gun you down...
...so yeah, not a typical half-hearted rail shooter. there are even some 2D sidescrolling segments where you're in complete control of your own left-right movement across the screen. you're given so much freedom that you will not once think 'on rails' while you're playing it.
I'm definitely keen to get this; though I'm not sure where the "nothing like this" comments are coming from. This looks like Cabal/Blood Brothers/Shootanto to me, just with more active environments and better graphics.
