Maybe not needing a 3D television for 3D gaming. _{Though i don't think separating consoles from TV's would be a good idea.} Except if they were going for holographic gaming.

I see it happening once Nintendo has announced release dates for all the Wii-games they still have up their sleeve because i don't think 3rd party support will suddenly resurrect again.

Nintendo PR in the UK was quick to serve TechRadar with a 'no comment' when asked about the latest Wii 2 rumours today, which emerged from Zelda fan site Zeldainformer.com , with the site claiming to have a Nintendo source adamant that E3 2011 is when gamers will get the first glimpse of the successor to the Wii.
However, digging a little bit deeper, the fact that the site goes on to list rumoured Wii 2 specs such as a built-in Blu-ray drive, a superfast quad-core processor and a built-in projector suggests that the source of the rumours may well not be as close to Nintendo's top brass as Zeldainformer.com might hope.

I don't believe in rumors, and I will only accept Nintendo's confirmation.

I hope that Nintendo gives 2011 to the 3DS and waits until 2012 to reveal the Wii's successor.

I guess I wouldn't be shocked if they simply announced that the next console has been scheduled for Christmas '12 or sometime in '13, but I don't think they'll tip their hand this soon. And I certainly don't think they'd provide any details about the console's features.

I was hearing rumors about a Wii successor BEFORE the Wii was released!

(RUMOR:), Wii 2 will feature 3D capability, PS3 "TRUE" 1080 HD, Camera for headtracking "3D" and Kinect like capabilities. Oh, and also the nunchuk will have 3 more buttons cause.

I think they will focus mainly on the 3DS at E3 this year but then again the GCN was 2001-2006/07 ,N64 1996-2001/02,SNES 1991-1996,NES 1985-1991 and it has only been about 4 years so if it follows this current pattern then we shouldnt worry about a succesor to the Wii until next E3 really.It will probaly be out late 2013.

There better be Smash Bros. close to it's release. Even 2 years after, like Brawl. Because the shut down of NWFC is inevitable especially since the 'license' of the Golbal Trading Station for Pokemon DPPtHGSS is expected to close in 2013-2015. Who knows what will happen to Brawl. It's one of those things I myself find important.

I kinda hope we here atleast what they want to do with the Wii 2 and what the next step up is snice they raised the bar.

It's all about nintendo 3ds and zelda skyward sword this year, Skyward Sword is all about wii motion plus so i doubt they will release it for their next console like they did with Twilight Princess for gc/wii.
