Cool, but for a Battle of Britain game, you might want to hold the Spitfire off till later in the game, since it was a new plane at the time and wasn't very common in the RAF yet. It gained its fame from its elliptical wing shape and the fact that it was a superior fighter to the ME109s the Gernans were flying as escorts. The Hawker Hurricane was far more common since it was an older design and had been in production much longer.
I believe a common tactic used as the Spitfires became more numerous, was to send up mixed squadrons. The Spitfires would attack the fighter escorts while the Hurricanes would go after the bombers.
Either way I am looking forward to seeing more of this game.
Edit: Looking at the fan page I'm glad to see that the P-40 and Zero will be in the game... I do hope more planes surface before the game ships
Hobbes, that kind of information is exactly why you should be floating around on the Fanpage. Without guys like you injecting their knowledge...well you know! There's only so much research one can do:) We need more people liaising with the developers (I can pass on so much but from a genuine "other" person..!) and asking questions on there:)
Hi guys! I am sorry for the lack of communication recently. I've been so damned busy pimping here there and everywhere! Exciting times for me personally at the moment. Spooky Spirits:Puzzle Drop!! is now on the AppStore. The Pearl Harbor fanpage has had some new artwork uploaded and I've been chasing some reviews.
I've also got some investigating to do, due to something someone pointed out on the fanpage. I can't say what really, just give you a subtle nudge in the direction of it. Beeeecause if it IS genuine, it'll have to be removed ASAP.
I can't get hold of my boss tbh. It certainly looks genuine, from what I've seen etc of the build videos I've seen. I'm still running around with a bee in my bonnet.
hey guys, hope you get all that business sorted quickly. i just had one question about the game. what's the flying going to be like? i mean, it's not starfox, so i know you won't have the boosts and all that, but will there at least be some kind of sense of speed? especially as you get closer to the ground? and for intense dog-fight trickery, will it be possible to do a somersault, or maybe... DO A BARREL ROLL?
also, i don't recommend wearing a bonnet. they went out of style years ago, and they're just so prone to bee infestations these days....
It's quite annoying, literally, that I'm not allowed to say anything. It's got to be truly frustrating for you guys as well.
Ok, here's a promise. I'll do my best to get the go ahead on an exclusive reveal to NL and their loyal forumites, you've all been so kind to me and Legendo, you deserve it:)
I think it's important to have a real public face to a company. As I've said before, yes it's key to get reviews and communication from the members of press but even more important is to be part of a community, listen to their opinions of your previous games, suggestions for next games and so on.
When I say that the opinions I get given here are taken very seriously, I mean it! Someone suggested (apologies, I can't remember your name!) that we drop the "ep1" etc in the Pearl Harbor series. I voiced concerns and it's been dropped:)
awesome. i think that's a GREAT philosophy to have. there have ben so many games (ex: killer7) that the press has LOVED, but the actual gaming market (ex: me) just couldn't understand. i never got into that game... it was weird (which isn't always bad, but it was), complicated, and really hard to figure out. and because of that, the game (while... perhaps good) didn't sell well. and that's what matters. so i think it's a great idea to be involved with the people who are actually paying for your product, and i can tell you that alone will also warrant you a number of buys from NLifers, regardless of reviews, almost. simply because it's so refreshing.
oh, and ahem, the name change suggestion was yours truly. which is part of why you've already won my wii points. the other part is the game looks awesome anyway.

The general developers as whole simply don't bother interacting with their consumers and that to me is a real pitty, they're missing out on down to earth constructive criticism and more importantly, giving every day joes the opportunity to interact with people whom they look up to/admire!
First off, this game has really piqued my interest so consider me a definite buyer for the first installation at the very least!
Second, I know you have a size limit, but if some battles don't make the cut, can they be considered for downloadable content? A buck an additional scenario would work for me, I always have a few Wii points left over with nothing to spend them on.
Third, I'd prefer a solid game to one where corners were cut to include online play, but if there is a possibility of including online play (perhaps by making some scenarios downloadable content?) without sacrificing gameplay, I'd be all for it.
Keep up the good work, it looks like a stellar project so far!

Thank you, I hope not only does it pique you some more but impresses you equally! As for DLC, I don't know in truth. I daresay it'd all depend on how well the game sells. So never say never. But in all it is quite difficult to add DLC.
Your third point, I can't comment:)

Cheers fella, it's sad that it has slipped but I truly think it'll be a better game for it! Seriously, from what I've seen so far is amazing when you consider a) It's WiiWare and b) the power of the Wii in general!
I was disappointed to learn that the game is being pushed back to Q1 2010. I was kind of hoping for a 12-7 release, since the Pearl Harbor anniversary actually falls on a Monday this year (today actually). Ahh well, If you guys need the time to make this game better, then good for you. I am happy to wait for a finished product that the developers are proud of as opposed to a game that is rushed to make the original intended release day.
We could've pushed for the anniversary date but seriously, the QC is upmost important. Lessons have been learned and comments listened to, so hopefully this'll be all the better for it!
