Rare stopped working with Nintendo cause they were bought by Microsoft.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Go back to the old days when there was a wider range? I think there already is a wider range of games on the Wii and I know for one my collection reflects that...I think if we dig a little deeper, it's that your range has actually narrowed, not Nintendo's.
I think he means the days when there was a larger disparity between consoles. Like if you wanted to play Ecco, or Sonic, or Phantasy Star, you HAD to buy a Sega system. If you wanted to play Mario, or Zelda, or Metroid, you HAD to buy a Nintendo system.
The last generation (GC/XBox/PS2) saw very similar systems with very similar games (a lot of cross-platform titles), with no real reason to buy multiple systems. With the Wii's NPC and relatively low power, much of the uniqueness seen in the older console wars has been restored. The Wii and the PS3/X360 provide very different experiences, and many gamers will end up with at least 2 of the 3 as a result - whereas in the last generation there wasn't too much need for that.
I'd say anything post DKC is off the table... Anything before that though... I honestly no idea who owns the rights to what anymore. Like Battletoads... Did Rare get to keep those rights? Or did Tradewest get those? If so... Tradewest was bought and became Williams which in turn became Midway... And Midway folded earlier this year and was bought out by WB, Do WB own the rights then? Or did the rights stay with Williams' parent company back in the day when Midway took over the Williams development studios which wouldn't surprise me since Williams and Midway shared the same parent. Then WMS Industries would be sitting on the right and they have no interest in video games anymore.
I really don't see the point in this topic. Rare sucks these days, we currently don't need them back. Nintendo got rid of them at the right time. If you want to play their games, get a 360 or find them for the N64. You should know that we can't have their games due to legal issues. So, don't like your wii? Sell it. Want a 360/PS3? Go buy one. Its not that hard. And besides, I brought a Wii for new games, not old ones. The VC is awesome, but you have to realize you can't get what you want all the time.
If they can't put their games on the Wii, I'd at least like to see them ported to PC! And I don't see why they shouldn't! After all, they are owned by Microsoft!
I think you should buy a second console if you think that the Wii doesn't have many good games/games you like. Maybe you should buy a 360 or a PS3 or maybe both?
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!
Killer instinct games were great back then.i still have the SNES version but bad news for me is there wont be any Killer instinct Gold coming to the VC.
I officially own a MAME arcade machine.
