I am not here to really talk about some games I want me I can deal without yoshis island thanks to me having a copy of that and of SSB. But the real reason is because Nintendo of Japan is greedy. I believe one of the reasons is because like everyone says they are the spoiled child in the family and the europe fans and US fans shouldn't get anywhere near as much. This is all NOJ's fault not NOA's I bet you if NOA had the choice they would already have SSB and Yoshis Island and many more but I think Japan like I said is just greedy thats why we may never see anything extremely off the charts coming from japan (Yoshis island maybe and Smash Bros maybe even Super Mario Kart) but EarthBound I'm sorry to say seems hopeless unless NOJ gets there act together. (Please nobody flame me because I believe that this is the true reason.)
I think the real reason is Japan had much more games, many unreleased in the West or even translated, so its not surprising Japan has a busy VC service.
You actually have a point, Tails86, but how come NOJ chooses which country between the US and EU gets the good stuff and when? Like Europe has had Smash Bros. for a while. Since Japan was "nice" enough to let Europe have Smash Bros, when are they gonna give it to us? Is this some kind of segregate issue? I'm not flaming you at all Tails, I totally agree, but I wonder how they would choose who gets what and when...
Don't worry, I'm not gonna flame you, Tails. While I don't quite agree that NoJ is the cause for the lack of NA's VC games, I do feel that Japan has quite a huge library of video games, compared to NA's and EU's game collection combined. It'd be a lot to choose the games to release here. Not to mention, Japan is the only continent to not have played Gumshoe on cartridge, which is my favorite Light Gun game for the NES. So where was I? Oh, yeah, I'm not gonna flame you for posting what you believe.
If it was simply a matter of "greed", why would they hold back those games which would undoubtably make money? There has to be some deeper reasoning going on here. I think you're right, though, it's probably more NOJ's call on what's released everywhere else. Right here is where I'd usually say "don't worry, the games you want will come eventually" but I can't even believe that myself anymore. It's just not happening and I've lost all faith in the North American Virtual Console service.
Future Wii purchases: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Zelda Wii New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sin and Punishment 2
I don't think NOJ has anything to do with it. There is a reason for everything, we just have to be patient. I really want Super Mario Kart, Pro Wrestling, and Final Fantasy, but there is nothing I can do but wait.
The chickens are restless.

i believe its just they are tired of us asking for it and i bet you if people stopped asking for the good games we would get them. cause as i said i don't need yoshis island i have a GBA version of it which is just a port from the SNES and i have the SSB Game for n64 as well. so i'm in no rush to see it but its true though Nintendo of Japan i believe just wants the money now like everyone else (i know they've always been like that x.x;) but still even the same thing for our Club Nintendo Stuff in NA i haven't even gotten my mario hat and here it is almost the end of Sept and nothing back from them.

I do believe Japan gets spoiled by NOJ, but I doubt that's the reason. Someone posted why NOE didn't get as many, I think. I think that might have been Sean. That seemed like a more likely reason. Whatever their reason is, I just want for NOA to give us more than one vc a week. It'll take us forever to get some of the things we want at this rate.......actually...it IS taking forever!
i am content with it Dante i am just saying for other people who want the games i feel bad for them cause its the big dog company thats messing with there fans. me though like i said have copys of some games so i'm content but again i just feel sorry for the people who want them..

I personally don't know how these things are decided, but as far as I'm aware Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe are semi-autonomous entities that do make decisions on their line-ups. Disaster Day of Crisis hasn't been released in North America because NoA isn't interested; ditto for Excitebots in Europe and Japan.
According to a rep in Nintendo's UK support team they cap weekly releases at four titles to ensure every title gets a fair go; apparently in Japan that's not deemed necessary so they get heavier release schedules, though they've also had a couple of holidays (like this week) with no titles being released at all for download.
So unless there's some actual evidence backing up this claim, I don't see the rationale behind proclaiming it. People might be unhappy that there's a delay between release dates in various territories, but let's not forget that there are some games where Japan gets a title last or not at all (no release date in sight for The Conduit or Excite Bots; Little King's Story released in Japan months after Europe and North America; Munchables/Tabemon also released in Japan after NA/Europe).
Tails, you have a good point. I do think that Japan is like the special child in the family, and that those of us in Europe and North America need more VC games. But that's not to say that NLC is responsible for this. (This being the lack of many AAA titles in US and Europe) NoA and NoE are at least semi-responsible for the VC service in their respective regions.

I completely agree with this point. I just wish some people would take the time to read rational arguments like this instead of knee jerk reactions based on emotion rather than evidence. I mean, it's not hard to find NoA's thoughts on Disaster with a quick google search. It's not Japans fault!
