Just beat it minutes ago. I must say, this game definitely sticks out in the Zelda franchise. Why? Because it looks different than all the others. Plus you have the whole "Twilight Realm" thing going on. So without further adieu, here are the things I did and did not like about Twilight Princess.
THINGS I LIKED: 1. The Story The game`s plot is, again, Ganon trying yet again to take over Hyrule. But this time he has the Twilight at his disposal. Ganon isn`t the only villain in the game, however. Zant, the "ruler" of the Twilight realm has much in common with Ganon. The two work together for domination of the light world and it is up to Link to stop them. There are many characters and side quests that go along, too. Now for the next thing I liked.
2. The Length. At the start of the game, you are just some farm boy living your daily life. At the end of the game, you are the Hero of all Hyrule. That`s all I got to say on the matter.
3. The cutscenes. Talk about deep. Every cutscene in the game was great. My favorite being the one where link sees the triforce and runs toward it. Even though there was no talking, it was still great and adds more to the scene. The day that a zelda game has talking(ignore the cd-i games), is the day the franchise goes downhill.
4. The boss battles. Sure they were easy, but they were fun at the same time. Wether your clawshooting the eyeball of a giant fish-bug or simply squashing giant spiders with statues, the boss battles were fun, epic, and satisfying.
5.(final one) Hyrule field. Nuff said. Riding through Hyrule field on Epona is certainly one of the greatest moments in the game. I found myself sometimes just wandering the field killing bad guys and looking for secrets. Plus it has some great music.
THINGS I DID NOT LIKE: 1. Certain enemies. We can all agree that some of the enemies required no skill. Some you just had to hack at them until they died. Of course there were some difficult baddies like the jousting goblin, but overall I wanted a slight more difficult AI in the game.
2.Link`s movement speed. I really wished the bunny hood was in this one. I found myself rolling around to get from place to place(Yes I of course warped but when I had to walk I rolled.) Hopefully the bunny hood will come back in Zelda wii.
3.Population. Regarding Castle town, I wanted to see more Hylians, Gorons, and Zoras around Hyrule. If you really wanted to see them, you kinda had to deliberately look for someone. Again, let`s hope to see a pop. increase in the new game.
Believe it or not, those are all the things I didn`t like about the game. Yes it is that good. Now there is one you might be thinking I forgot. But I am going to make a separate list of SONGS THAT I LOVED from the game.
5. Temple of Time entrance 4. Ordon Village 3. Sacred Grove 2. Zora`s domain 1. Faron woods
So, there ya have it. Overall, Twilight Princess is wonderful and one of the best in the series. It`s definitely not OoT, but it`s one every person who owns a wii or even like zelda should try out. Agree or disagree with some of the stuff I said. I`d love to here what you guys think of the game.
Agreed with most of your points. I thought that castle town had wonderful and lively atmosphere which is pretty much unmatched, even though you couldnt speak with all the people. My opinion is that Twilight Princess is the best action adventure of this generation.
I'd have to disagree with the cut-scene part. I still don't get what was with that weird-@$$ cut-scene in the spring on the lake...still gives me the creeps!

It is a good game, and I agree with a lot of the things you liked about it, though not as much with the things you disliked. My dislikes of it are much more.....big. I'm not quite sure if I prefer Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, though I think I'd have to go with Twilight Princess, largely because I liked the dungeons in it a lot more.

Nice call on the "somewhat." And Wind Waker is way better, just sayin'.
Wind Waker is way better in practically every way, I must agree. In fact it's quite possibly my favorite game of all time. But if I had to recommend a Zelda game to someone who was unfamiliar with the series, I would give them Twilight Princess. It's really the ultimate "Zelda" experience, but I think that Wind Waker is a better "game" experience over all.

Ha believe it or not I have yet to play Wind Waker. I just bought A link to the past off the VC. I already beat the first dungeon. Strange transition though. Going from awesome graphics to 16 bit is quite the change.
@Chucko I've always felt that Link to the Past has such a charming visual style that it really hasn't shown its age--and this is coming from a relative youngster. The thing that's weird going back to the old "top-down" Zelda games is the combat system. You really take for granted what Ocarina of Time did for action games until you go back and play the games that came before it. Don't get me wrong, A Link to the Past is very playable, and I think its combat system is actually pretty good. But it takes a lot more concentration than the 3D ones. Whether or not that's a good thing, I suppose, is up for debate.

It seems to be somewhat of a trend saying that. I always liked the wolf parts and didn't even think they were tedious before people started to proclaim that.
I found Wind Waker much more appealing as it was one of those games that dared to take the series in new directions. TP was largely a been there, done that experience.
