Hi guys - Looking to buy a new game and have narrowed it down to these 3...

I don't get so much time to play regularly these days and I'm looking for something that I can pick up and play for around an hour at a time and probably once a week or fortnight. (obviously rpgs etc are out - I'd forget what I was meant to be doing! .

I gather Endless Ocean is very relaxing and there is no really object to the game. Could be prefect!

I like fighters but already have Brawl - do I need Capcom vs?

Muramasa really interests me with the artwork and concept but is it something I'd have work often at to get anywhere?

What would you guys choose?

Thanks!
Shocky

In less than a month, I've played Tatsunoko vs Capcom more than I played Brawl over the past ~two years. If you have any love for fighters, you'll be doing yourself a great service by picking it up.

"I like fighters".

I agree. Buy TvC. If you, a Wii owner that likes fighters, won't buy it, then the sales will be bad. It needs people like you buying it. Muramasa IS an rpg. You won't get much enjoyment from blue ocean if you don't put in many hours. TvC = perfect for you.

Hi, I'm new

I can only agree with what has been said - if you like Fighters (I'm not the hugest fan) then you have to go for TvC.
But by all means, investigate the Endless Ocean franchise at some point in your life.

Thanks - Looks like I'll be going for TvC - Just under 18 pounds here in the UK from Zavvi.co.uk. A bargain I reckon!

Brawl isn't a fighter. It's a multiplayer platformer.

TvC is a fighter. Buy it. Play it. Love it.

Enless Ocean 2 is very relaxing most of the time, but it is also full of missions and tasks, including the main story. This game is really worth the money (at least for me). No idea about the others, I try to keep as far away as possible from kicks and platforms games.

I've got all three; haven't tried Endless Ocean 2 yet, but as stated it has more structure than the first game, plus Wii Speak for the online multiplayer and that's all I needed to know to take the plunge.

Nice list there and you cannot go wrong with any of them, but the arcade gamer in me agrees with the Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom recommendation. Best fighting game I've ever played.

Better than Street Fighter 2 for it's time? Better than SF4 now? (I know they're for a different platform..)

I wouldn't make such a statement about SFII, but it's definitely better than SF4. I've always been more partial to the VS. games though.

I'd say I do prefer it to the original SFII; I've never played SF4, but I cannot say I'm terribly interested from what I've seen. It's the inclusion of the Tatsunoko characters and the tone that really makes the game for me. Irreverent, but fun - beating the crap out of Ryu with a pushbroom is priceless!

YES! It plays completely different and is absolutely great. And I´ve had more fun with it than SF 4 so far. But really, it´s hard to compare it to the regular SF games like SFII, TvsC is all about insanity and crazy combined superattacks, the regular SF-games are more tactical fighters.

Buy TvsC, it´s good and you need it.

Don't buy it, the differences between TvC and Brawl are superficial. All these guys get paid by Capcom to tell you to buy this game.

Personally, I would choose Endless Ocean 2 from the games listed (based on my experience with the first game) because it's probably a better one-player experience and can be easily picked up once every week or so. TvC is an excellent "pick up and play" choice though, with accessible controls and great gameplay... but unless you are spending a lot of time fighting friends or opponents online I don't think it has as much staying power. As for Muramasa, I haven't played and don't want to comment.

Wow. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is the opposite of what most people -- myself included -- seem to feel.

TvC can feel chaotic but it's still a real fighter and captures a totally different vibe than Brawl. TvC is limited to 2-player battles instead of the "more the merrirer" Brawl gameplay. TvC is more technical (although button mashers can still do very well) and has more gameplay depth, while Brawl uses a much simpler move-set and relies on random events and item drops to add replay value. TvC also has better online code.

While you might find those differences superficial, they make a big difference to me and actually make TvC my preferred game... although many people might disagree with that preference.

Just a point on Muramasa.... it's great! Can get a little tedious at times with repetitive fighting etc but it's one of those very important games for the Wii that people should buy not only because it's a great game but it's the kind of thing that needs supporting. I love it's art style - and it's really lengthy, two whole campaigns to play through.

I just started playing Muramasa recently, and it is indeed a lovely experience, with wonderful art design. I'm not far enough in to comment on the depth of the combat, but it's been fun so far (I'm playing on the more difficult mode). I do wish it had 2 player support, though.

i'm pretty sure he was joking. There is nothing similar between the games. I would say that these are two completely different genres. Both amazing and epic. TvC should have had the animated endings and the extra mini games to be an AAA like Brawl. But it's still very good.

Why... does mummikins need some help?

Nah, I'm only on ACT 4 of one of the stories myself, also on "Shura" difficulty. I don't play it every day because it's one of those games I really want to saviour - I am expecting the difficulty of later bosses to rise quite steeply, because it's been 'relatively' (and I say that loosely)... easy so far.
