Is it confirmed for 2010? I've heard no indication of that. I don't think that's what he's asking, but I'm curious now that you bring it up. I think a trailer and concept is enough to be excited about -- and of course the fact that it's the first time Nintendo has published a more standard JRPG (i.e. not Mother or Mario), if you're into that. Personally, I didn't think it looked interesting at all, but Nintendo chose to put its faith in it, so I'll keep an eye out for it despite my doubts.

Actually, this will be the 3rd since they published Baten Kaitos: Orgins (made by the same developers and a RPG I consider as one of the best out there) and Soma Bringer.

Monado looks good to me, plus, since it's made by Monolithsoft (who consist of many ex-Square employees including the ones who made Chrono Trigger) I'm extra excited .

My most anticipated list:

1. Metroid: Other M
2. Galaxy 2
3. Monster Hunter Tri (I'm HIGHLY surprise more aren't interest in this title with online coop, DLC quest, and an epic adventure that will take HOURS)
4. Red Steal 2
5. No More Heroes 2
6. Tatsunko vs Capcom (surprise many haven't listed this since it's the next game in the Vs series. Don't need to know the characters to enjoy a fighter, it's all about the fighting system)
7. Arc Rise Fantasia
8. Fragile
9. Shiren the Wanderer
10. Sin and Punshiment 2
11. Sky Crawlers
12. Endless Ocean 2

Here is my list:

  • Tatsunoko vs Capcom
  • Sin & Punishment 2
  • Red Steel 2
  • Metroid Other M
  • Arc Rise Fantasia
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Monster Hunter Tri

Note: This list is no particular order of popularity, just put them down as the games came to my mind. I might be missing a couple of games, will add later when I remember them!

Ah, I totally forgot about Baten Kaitos, as I always do. What's so great about it? Never played it. I didn't realize they'd published Soma Bringer, either, though I barely heard anything about it since I don't follow Japan-only releases unless I know the series already, i.e. Mother or Fire Emblem.

I hate myself for saying this but I'm most looking forward to Epic Mickey. I hate Disney with a passion but I'm a sucker for a story that plays off the continuity of well known characters (which is why I quit buying Marvel Comics, but that's a whole different rant) and using some of Walts original creations and tying them into the Mickey Mouse mythos is just too cool in my opinion.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

BK: Origins is incredible, BK: Eternal Wings were good to. I really love the card system they have in both games. It's not a card based game like say a Yugioh, it's just a means to select your attacks and make combos and magic combinations. What I love about the card system in both games is how it really plays with your creativity. Find cards (in which are called Magnus in the game) the you can combine with others to make brand new cards. For instance capture (you have to store the essence of animals, plants, elements, food, anything you find in the world into Magnus) a seed and you capture sunlight. Put the sunlight next to the seed magus and after time (real time) it'll grow into a plant, in which could have different properities, be needed for a quest, or to be combined with another card. That also brings me to another thing I like, aging. You can capture milk, and after about 30 minutes (real time) it could turn to cheese. It might not sound like much, but if you look at all the stuff you can capture in the game, and the different uses in and out of battle, you will find yourself taking a ton of time just experimenting to see what you can come up with, and it's very rewarding.

The battle system is pretty awesome as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1yVrpMbTEI check out that video of a battle. You have to pick cards in sequence order to be able to combo your attacks and get maximum damage. Magnus numbered 0 are always defensive or offensive stat boosting cards. 1-3 are always regular attacks while 4 and up are more powerful magic attacks (gets more powerful the higher up you are able to go). Magnus 4 and above requires specific levels within the spirit meter to use (in which is the meter going up at the bottom right corner of the video during battle). Everyone shares the same deck of magnus, and before every battle begins, the magnus are shuffled randomly. As you can see, the fights are very very fast pace, everyone only has a specific amount of time to select all the magnus they will use before their time is up (if you don't select any before the time is up, the game will move on the the next character, all though, you can reselect him/her if you want). There is a relay system you can do to continue combos between characters and if you do the right combination of magnus, you can find secret moves. The battle system is very deep, fast, and fun. Keeps you on your toes. I love it

Also, between both games, the music and art in the game is just completely outstanding. There are some points in both games where I just have to take a moment and just be in awe with the artwork. Great gameplay, great story (with unexpected twist), great exploration, great voice acting (in BK: Origins), and music and graphics. I highly recommend this game to you, especially if you like RPGs.

Same here, Epic Mickey looks fun and interesting.

(And I gave up on Marvel after Marvel Civil War, though I like it.)

That does sound fun, Adroitone! Thanks very much for the description. I might have to rebuy a Gamecube controller and memory card to play this game. When you first said it was card-based, I thought of Lost Kingdoms I & II on GC. I played the heck out of those games. Completely ruined a study session for my hardest final of senior year in high school because when my friends got there I was still trying to beat LK2, haha. Ah, memories.

Whoops, this is quite a tangent. I'll wait until I have the game to bring it up again, which likely will not be for awhile if I do get it at all. Anyway, thanks again.

Metroid: Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2 HANDS DOWN. I really loved galaxy 1, and am ecstatic there is a Sequel in the Works. I am also excited that they are making another Metroid game, that looks extremely unique (With the switching between 2D and 3D).
