Just got back from Gamestop. Asked for a disc, but the clerk said that I would have to place a preorder. I immediately left.
I still haven't received my disc from Capcom's site yet
If the clerks do that, ask them how they expect people to get excited for the game if they can't play the demo. If people preorder the game they already want it, demos are usually meant for the people who are on the fence about it.
I preordered and got the demo, I was going to preorder anyway so I'm not really mad at Gamestop (More Like I Can't Since Its the Only Game Store Around) and I love it besides that DAMN Time Limit, why Capcom, Why?
@Rowdy: i was worried my gamestop wouldn't give me the demo i was so itching for (both of the ones around here are notoriously snobbish), but i hadn't been in a while, and when i went it, it turns out they'd hired new staff, who just gave me the thing without question. so you can mark me off your list of demos to send out. i do applaud you for doing that, though. good work carrying out this service for those who were ripped off.

I went into the local gamestop in Suffern, NY and I was told by the salesperson that I needed to pre-order the game in order to take a demo disc. I didn't see anything about a 500 point card and I wasn't told anything about it.
@vendetta: I don't think I even ASKED for a demo. I think I was asking about the date or something related to this game and the guy handed me it. I only played very little today, because my fiance was here, but may play more tomorrow. I had it earlier in the week, but my fiance had my wii (Got it it back now. )
Why can't they just distribute the demo via Wiiware?
It probably takes up too much space. I'm not sure, but seeing the multitude of fighting types and considerable large environment for a demo, I'd assume so.
Best thread ever

Still waiting for Kevin to come through guys, I apologize for the wait.
However, the 500 point card will come with the actual game when it's released and the price for the bundle will be $5 cheaper than normal so the price should be 54.99 (so 49.99 after the five dollar reserve) for the collectors edition in North America.

Glad to hear others are also still waiting for the "by mail" disc to arrive. Capcom has promised to send me stuff twice without coming through. Monster Hunter looks interesting, but there is no way I'm buying the game if a demo disc doesn't arrive.

True that. Still haven't received mine yet though.
I have received my demo disc via mail! I also read on Capcom-unity's blog that they sent out most of the discs. If you have asked for a demo by mail, check ur mailbox soon!
