the 40/40 review in Famatsu (who knows how much you can trust that but still... 40/40!!)
Famitsu have displayed a very odd judging criteria for games though. They gave Final Fantasy XII a perfect score, for example, when it was clearly flawed in several ways. Vagrant Story, while fantastic, also got a perfect score even though it had its flaws (though few). Metal Gear Solid 4 was clearly flawed (didn't play it but there were plenty of things in it for people to complain about) and got a perfect mark too.
I think they like games which are overly complicated, with deep (labyrinthine) game systems, or games with sweeping cinematic storylines. Either way they're still fairly reliable (more so than a lot of western publications) and I'm still very interested in Tri.
Well, I've just done a little looking and to be honest it doesn't look good. No game has ever given away free Wii points before, and there is only one reason why a game would do so.
I don't think they're giving away free points because the game is bad. The Japanese clearly like it, and the Monster Hunter series is well respected. There must be some other reasoning. And it's only a pre-order bonus (worth $5 no less), it won't come with every game sold.
I didn't suggest the game was bad, because I know it isn't. The only reason someone would give points away is as a 'free-trial', I would assume.
I'm really torn. I love the look of this game and was excited by the fun I was gonna have with buddies online. To a PC gamer like myself though, paying for the privilege to play online seems ridiculous. This game is gonna have to really blow me away to make me spend my points on a regular basis.
this is just what is saw, capcom or nintendo hasn't said if the online is montley pay maybe it could be some sorts of extras like more armers,... that you have to pay once (like in ff cc my life as a king)

In Japan they already give 20 days free when purchasing the game. Not to mention the minimum amount they can pay is 800 for 30 days. So 500 points would be... pointless.
