sigh...the following post contains elitist comments but I am posting it because I want to warn you all what people could be saying behind your back with-in five seconds of you entering a city..... here goes......

Signs You are a Nublet

1. You have mixed armor set with no skills
2. You have an Auto-Guard Charm equipped. (Learn to Block)
3. You are using a SnS that isn't Sleep or Para.
4. You do not gem out your negative skills.

@Demon.... It only took me about a little over an hour to get the full set. Not too bad at all.

@Machu... thanks mam, I looked over the Wiki as it stays on my computer all the time now , and somehow managed not to catch that. The armor give I think +20 to health and a heat resistance stat wich is great for running those dang stones down the volcano as long and you dung bomb the dang Uragaan on the way up the second time its a cakewalk lol.

As for the AutoBlock. Use the Rhenopolis Armor wich gives a Skill in Auto Guard and then equip the talisman as well and you will auto guard really often. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAND STILL! Ive auto guarded the Barroth in full charge at me, while I was rolling out the way a few times, as well as auto guard kicking in while swinging. Downside is it kills your weapons edge nearly everytime, so If I use that armor I change talismans. I block very little as well because of this, I roll more than blocking. Blocking is a last resort for me.

Listen to JayArr though, Dont equip gems to raise a negative on your armor, all your doing is playing against the strenghts of the armor itself. Add to increase the skills you have in the 6-8 range to push them over the line.

@JayArr Good advice. More advice!

Signs You Are A Nublet, Part 2

And these are things I see way more often than I should.

5. You quit after fainting once in a quest. It happens, don't get all butthurt. You're just making it harder for everyone else if you leave.
6. You don't evade much. Evasion is key to survival - blocking is more like a last resort (though it depends on the weapon).
7. Forgetting to bring Potions, Cool Drinks and Hot Drinks. Always have these necessities in your bag.
8. You didn't set your online status to No Keyboard when you don't have a keyboard plugged in. Please, please do this.

Protip About Skills

So you see Protection + 1, but you have no idea what it does. Hold the B button on the Wiimote and point at the skill on-screen. Look! A description of what it does! (Doesn't work in the Quest Rewards screen or when looking at someone else's equips though.) It also tells you how many points you need to get the skill. A lot of them require 10 points to have any effect, so having Protection + 9 won't give you Divine Blessing. Same with negative skills, having Protection - 9 won't give you Demonic Blessing - so attach a Protection + 1 decoration to gem out the negative skill.

Negative skills tend to be bad, except for in very specific cases. If you have awesome defense and a slow weapon with a shield like a lance, you could try using Taunt (Sense - 10) to attract the enemies' attention more often to help your teammates stay alive and have a steady target, for example.

1. ... I'm working on it!
2. Nope
3. I'm not sure what that is yet D:
4. Not sure about that either.

I just explained gemming out negative skills in the post above yours. Read it if you're interested.

Finally Got my Diablos+ Gunner set as well as all 3 parts of the Diablozooka. Took me an estimated amount of 30-something carapace to finally get it, but now its all worthwhile. Pierce shot boost ftw

It's official. Auto-Guard Talisman is a Great Sword users best friend.

And I aint no noob. It's just a nice back-up.

I'm starting to feel all left out with this blademaster love-in happening here.
I'm currently working on forming the Gunner's Union.
Theyre'll be strict rules mind.
I'm thinking 'thou shalt always carry tranq, recov and paint shells' for starters.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

JayArr

@Machu - Ok, let me try to explain logically instead of sounding pompous. You know what you're doing so Auto-Guard is probaly triggering 2-4 times a hunt. So all that is saving you a few Potions, maybe a Mega Potion, every hunt. That isn't that great of gain compaired to some other nice skills. I know you probably don't have many +10 charms but equip your best one of the following and gem out the remaining point boost to get to +10. Perception ( Capture Guru), Gluttony (Speed Eater), or Sharpener (Speed Sharpen). After a few hunts with one of those you will never want to go back or even notice you don't have have Auto-Guard.

Eh, I use auto-guard...>_>
I prefer to just "get the hell out of there" anyways, lol.

Also, I can forget things easily, so yes I forget hot/cool drinks from time to time. XD

So far I don't have any Talismans that look more appealing than auto-guard. If I find one, though, I can live without the auto-guardness.

It gets worse at high levels you get droped off a random spots on the map. Forget something and you have to run all the way back to camp. Unless you take farcaster(i think thats what its called. Anyways are you at your 3 star urgent yet i would love to help you!

@Tech101 Don't forget that in high rank, the supply box only has Maps, First-Aid Kits, Rations and Torches. If you forget your Cools and Hots you're royally screwed.

Now I'm just about to face Caedus. Hopefully I'll be able to own him with my new event LS Tenebra. Any tips on fighting it?
EDIT: nvm the guild have decided to shower me with more quests before I can face it.

Gah. I'm getting tired of fighting monsters a dozen times each. I think Capcom went overkill on the amount of monster parts you need to forge sets (the later ones, at least). I d'know though, maybe it'll get better when I hunt them online.
