Captured a great jaggi Finished my 2 star offline quests Started my 3 star offline quests Equipped the auto guard ability (yep. I'm a Great Sword user) Added Cha Cha to my party Finished 4/5 parts for my Alloy Armor set
Aaaand... got stuck trying to find 2 herbivore eggs... Anyone know where to find those? It's the 2nd 3* quest
This is getting insane! I need a Rathalos/Rathian Plate but I'm not getting it... Help?
Anyways, I've quit Story Mode/Offline Mode. Its now for farming only. Honestly, I cannot be bothered to take down Barioth... =/
Also, is it me, or am I seeing more and more Lvl 1-7 players? I can't open a room under "Skilled Players Only" without it getting bombarded with newbs wanting to do Barroth or R. Ludroth!
Also, Auto-Guard is very noob! Learn to block or evade... There's way better talismans out there!
How is having an Auto-Guard Talisman (which provides a nice back-up for unexpected hits), a full set of gems on your armour (providing yet another skill), and space to gem out anything bad, noobish? :/
Oh, and @JayArr, thanks for the advice on the previous page but I've been doing that since day 1. I love my speed-sharpening, it comes in handy as all that blocking (which according to others, I can't do) dulls the blade real quick. And just ask anyone I hunt with... I'm the Guru shouting 'now' when the paintblob starts to flash.
@pixelman What sets are you trying to make? If you're HR 28-30 then don't bother making any more sets unless you're still using, like, Jaggi armour. After the 3* urgent you'll get access to new and much better armour.
@Machu Having the Auto-Guard talisman is noobish because anyone who isn't a noob would be blocking all of the hits anyway. At least, that's the expectation. Think about it: if you already evade or block every hit you take then the skill is worthless. And then it frees up the talisman slot for much more useful skills, like Razor Sharp, or Cold Cancel (Hi), or Potential, or Sneak, or Capture Guru, or Great Luck, or Marathon Runner, or Evasion Up, or FreeElement... the list goes on. The talisman is the best way to introduce skills that aren't on your armour, because it can have up to + 10 on them, while gems usually have +1 or +2. The highest I've seen is +5 Attack, though that uses some majorly valuable and rare materials to forge. :/
But if you find that you take a lot of hits that you just can't seem to evade or block then the skill is useful. Then it would save you some potions. Though ideally you shouldn't be taking that much damage anyway thanks to your evasion and blocking skills.
@HolyMackerel: I'm still doing 4-5* quests on local. Haven't even done a single quest online. I'm mostly referring to the Lagiacrus/Rathian armor/weapons.
@pixelman Ah ok, that explains it. You only need a small number of Plates for those armour sets so stick with it! It didn't take me long to get them, maybe 5 quests and I had one. But as we all know, there's a Desire Sensor in this game which gives you exactly what you don't need.
I was searching for rathian plate since I first met rathian but I couldn't get it. Yesterday I repeled Ceadeus and then came some urgent quests and one of those was Mating season - hunt rathian and rathalos. I done it and vĂ³ila! there's a rathian plate on a reward table. : ) I made a wyvern jawblade of it, it's cruel... I suppose it was still the desire sensor but how nice that feels when you get finally something you've wanted so long!
Hmm. Okay, then, could you guys help me make some decisions? I want to finish up the game before I go online, so if I have the following armor sets...
Leather Armor
Hunter Armor
Great Jaggi Armor
Rhenoplos Armor
Ludroth Armor
Barroth Armor
What would be the best suit to forge? (right now there's Rathian, Lagiacrus, or should I wait until something else pops up?) I kind of want to forge the Lagiacrus Blade and upgrade it again after that, but that would mean a whole lot more time fighting the Lagi if I forged the suit. On the other hand, I could upgrade my Vulcanis if I find some Dragonite Ore and Firestones. And there's the Thunderclap which uses some Lagi parts too. What do you all recommend?
Another question. I just finished the first 5* quest, and I'm wondering how long until I can "awaken" swords (like the Vulcanis's fire).
@Pixelman always go with your strongest armour set. Barroth is good concidering he is your first urgent online. Of course you will use them all as you will want to change armour for the quest at hand but water defense is good to have on the 1 rank quests.
As for the fire in vulcanis. I`ve upgraded it at least twice and still no fire. Might not be there. I thought with a name like that it would have fire also. It is a good weapon though.
Dont worry about uragaan. You wont see him online till 3 rank quests anyways.
I know it has fire, but you apparently have to "awaken" it - something you can't do until "later" in the game.
Anyway, thanks. I guess I'll start on the Lagi armor. I think you can cut off its tail in the repel quest, so I may do that since that one is MUCH easier.
