And when people are leaving the game during online, rage happens.

And sides, people would hack it and ruin it like everything else.

@Adam: I can't stand playing online without voice. Feels like I'd might as well be playing alone with computers, 'cause the personality is all sucked out of the experience. Text would be okay, except most games are too action-packed to allow you to stop and type.

I can't stand talking in an empty room, feels weird. And the headset makes me feel really goofy. I always laugh at people who wear bluetooth headsets in public, and even though it's a completely different case using it for gaming, the association makes me feel even sillier.

No matter how good developers think their AI is, I always appreciate the difference when I play live opponents whether I can hear them or not. Brawl especially. The bots just aren't that good and make unrealistic decisions all too often.

The Wii has crappy online, and is easy to hack. I wouldn't want an online Mario.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

The hacking part is an odd complaint. There is hacking on all systems. I've heard of some really crazy ones on 360 though I haven't seen them for myself. But more importantly, online is not restricted to random match-ups. So unless your friends are super jerks, it's not necessarily an issue, I'd hope.

I didn't mean I'd literally rather play computers than people. I'd probably just wind up not playing at all.

To me, too much of the fun of playing with friends is all the incidental jabber (trash-talking and otherwise) that occurs. Removing that through the lack of voice support just totally kills the mood. Sure, it may take some getting used to, wearing the headset (seemed weird to me at first, too), but once you DO get used to it, you really start to miss it when it's not available. At least, I do.

As for the hacking, Nintendo DOES seem to have a bigger problem with it than Microsoft and Sony. I'd assume this is partially due to the fact that the Wii console is easier to hack in general, and partially because there's no overall online system by which consequences can be levied. Of course, this doesn't usually bother me because I hate playing with random people online anyway and as Adam said, that kind of thing doesn't generally happen when playing with friends.
