Topic: Midway and the VC

Most gamers are aware of financial issues with Midway and how it may be a while before any of their back catalog of games can be released. But we can always wish.

I decided to leave out the Mortal Kombat series from this topic because it's pretty much a given that everyone wants that series on the VC. Besides Mortal Kombat what Midway titles would you like to see on the Virtual Console? Don't feel like you have to limit it to arcade games.

My first choice would be Toobin (also on the Midway collection). The game is an absolute blast with 2 players! Actually I had fun in the single player mode too.

What do you want to see?

Oh, man, I love Toobin'. I have the Gamecube port from Midway and the controls absolutely suck. I also have a PC-based port, and the controls are amazing.

sadly with midway being a dead company now it depend on who buys out the rights to the games, but toobin, rampage would be great titles on vc

I don't care about any other Midway games other than the Mortal Kombat games; for that's all I truly love/loved from them!

And yes it's sad Midway no longer freaking exists; but hey look at it this way! We all know Warner Bros. now holds the company's future in their hands; so the real question we should all be asking ourselves is... will Warner Bros. take the time to fullfill those die-hard Midway fans & release their games on the VC?!

As for me the only logical answer you all know I'm going to give is! We'll probably have to wait a good solid year(s) for the Mortal Kombat games to ever hit the VC; if they ever do or not! So let's just hope they don't take too freaking long... but maybe 2010-2011 could the years for it to possibly happen!

Also this is just a fair warning; I'm just stating my most logical & honest opinion... so don't bite my head off if I'm stating the obvious, like all of the time!

Ugh... I hate the new name they have. WB Games Chicago just doesn't have the same ring. And I guarantee the only way we'll see those games on any downloadable service is if they get LOTS of emails.

I'm not sure if all of these count as I find it very confusing as to who controls what, but here goes...

In order of importance:
World Driver Championship
Rush 2049
Wipeout 64
Smash TV
Joust
Quake
Hydro Thunder

I can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure I will.

I'd have to go with Machu's list completely since he seems to be a hardcore Midways playa
Yet Machu, you forgot Mortal Kombat you fool lol

@Chrono Cross: I didn't forget it, I omitted it. I loved MK as a teen but am just tired of beat 'em ups now, Smash being the exception of course. If they release a proper Soul Caliber for Wii, or release Fighters Destiny on VC, then I shall return to the ring.

I'm sure there's a game I've forgotten, I best get trawling.

Be sure to note you just want them to release their old IP to the Wii; otherwise you get rejected as having suggested a "new" game idea! Also note that you need to register an account to send them feedback, but you'll get a tracking number and they respond right away.

Yes it's a damn shame about Midway. Mortal Kombat was released on Psn and it had online play just like Xbox Live, so i wonder why the VC never got it?

Hey... if the XBox 360 can get Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 then whats stopping it from appearing on the Virtual Console too?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

It would be a great day for the VCA service is Midway's collection became availible

It's probably just a generic response. It's not much different than Nintendo's.
