Topic: MH3 online players kinda boring?

I'll admit I'm not very far in the game.so i'm hoping it gets better when people see a higher hunter rank...

but whenever I log onto the beginner servers.. i'll say hi in the chat.. usually get a hi back.. and nothing else.. i'll ask if anyone with wii speak and a low hunter rank want to team up? no response... ever...

so i'll join a random town, looking for people with similarly low hunter rank.... and they're off questing, never respond to chat... ever....

this game has so much potential, and it feels like i STILL cant get a proper 'online experience' because the players are so boring....
please tell me that the higher rank servers are much more talkative....

I think that you need to have alot more of organized groups, so that you can have a fun experience.

I had a chat with one friend on there. We talked about Mario Galaxy 2 and I told him about the 3DS. It was a nice chat.

Everybody is different. Some people are just shy or just don't care and want to play the game. Others are talkative. I'm always in the rookie servers and I endure what you are but I've been playing for quite some time online and I have to say I've made about 10 friends online in random games and they're all very talkative and funny (hell I just met a guy today and him and I played for about 3 hours straight huntin' and chattin'. Then met about 6 or 7 more people they all were talkative). It's all luck I guess and it's not like one server full of random people from a nation is going to be completely different from the other.

I've only met, uh, interesting people so far. Maybe 20% of the rooms I've made or joined have had little chat going on. Maybe you have bad luck?

One thing to do is ask if they have a keyboard plugged in. If they don't, you shouldn't expect chat at all because the in-game keyboard is horrendous. If they say they don't have one then tell them any USB keyboard works and they should get one.

Also the rookie servers are full of, well, noobs. You could try joining the open or recruiting servers. Recruiting is especially useful by the way.

Also you could join Huntin' and Chattin' rooms, or Let's Quest Together, or even Casual Play. They're bound to be talkative.

I don't stop talking at who-ever I'm questing with. Whether I'm laughing at the fact they just sent my flying into the air, or instigating the next move, or celebrating the death of our prey, or asking if anyone needs health, or telling them to take care, or just mindless jabber. There are lots of typo's, but that's what happens when you are running along with one hand and typing blind with the other.

edit: Like Mr Mackerel says, they probably don't have a keyboard. It would take about two minutes to type... 'I don't have a keyboard' with the on-screen keyboard. It's horrible. D:

maybe they dont have a keyboard? Also the kid I talked to I couldn't understand most of the time. I hope it'll be better with others.

I don't talk online because I'm currently keyboard-less and don't own a wii-speak(and I suspect that if I did get one, Mrs Badger would leave me).

I do do in-game shout-outs.
And yes, Machu really doesn't shut up.

I always talk, even before I had a keyboard. Once I got one and told my online friends, they wondered how I typed THAT fast with the onscreen keyboard - obviously a longtime gaming career gives you supernatural fingeracrobatic skills

I thought there were only nice, competent and mostly talkative hunters out there till today, where we opened a town to go for urgent Jhen Mohran. We needed one more hunter and someone of rank 2 or something entered.
Me: "Please go, we want to beat Mohran and your rank is to low. We need four experienced hunters to do it."
He: "I know"
But guess what he did then - intsead of leaving he started a solo-mission! Well, let's leave this jerk and open a new town we thought, but what happened then? Exactly the same! I never experienced such rudeness before. Hope this will never happen again.

alright thanks for the advice guys, guess i need to just sitck it out and try for a while, i'll eventually find someone, but atleast i know there is people out there who make use of the chat... also.. where the hell is that usb keyboard i've got lying around...

I have my wiispeak switched on when I go online but I cant say that ive come across anybody else with it on. I do have a keyboard but dont tend to use it when Im playing but I do try at least to use the controller for talking and gestures but up until now I have not been playing with many English speaking Monster Hunters.

I've added your code Raptor78, to the list of codes I try whenever I'm on. It's a real pain getting connected, as you both have to be on at the same time, but at least once it's done, it's done. Fingers crossed.

Raptor, you do know that for voice chat you have to be friends right? you cant voice chat with strangers (I tried for ages.. then read the manual haha)

@Krazy Kain... I had no idea that you had to be friends to voice chat. lol. I just thought that nobody was using wiispeak online. lol

@Machu... My gaming time has to fit in around my family and work as I have the main wii on the big living room TV. So usually a couple of hours in the afternoon when the kids have gone to school and usually a couple of hours (sometimes more when I get my gamehead on) after about 22:30 GMT when I get in from work. so if your ever on then I will try and look you up. Thanks for adding me to the list as well

That's cool guys, my playtime is more limited than I'd like too. D: I'll be playing this for weeks if not months though, so we'll bump into each other eventually.

Someone asked me for help but I was too low so after they went in on a mission, I went in and did some on my own there. Want to get the rank up to do stuff with people like them.
