The new Madden 11 game is getting ready to come out and being a huge NFL fan I'm a fan of these games (even if it's pretty much the same every year) I have never played a Madden game on the Wii and every one I talk to pretty much says the Wii versions are pretty bad and I wanted your guys thoughts.

I normally get it for PS2 but the last few years you can really tell the PS2 version gets little to no attention from the developers, I don't have a PS3 or a 360 so that's out, so is the Wii version even worth this NFL die hard's time or should I just stick with the watered down PS2 version?

I cant help you there man since I am not a big fan of Madden games or American football. I do however like EA sports games mainly the FIFA games which are as close to real soccer as the Maddens are to real American football. However I passed on the Wii version of both FIFA 10 and 2010 World Cup cause they were just garbage compared to the 360 version. I actually like the controls better on the 360. Now I am not sure if the Maddens are the same way.

Anyway you can rent them before you buy them??

I haven't bought a Madden game since Madden '07 because, you're right, they're all pretty much the same, and I'm tired of Madden. I was never a big fan of Madden NFL in the first place, and when they bought the exclusive license, that really pissed me off. Now we only have one choice if we want to play an NFL video game, and it's an inferior one, in my opinion.

Ya, I plan to rent it first was just wondering what others thought about it, and I'm a big fan of sports games all around, I love Tiger Wood's PGA Tour and I hate golf and I'm not a fan of baseball but I like the games, I just like sports games.

When it comes to watching sports I'm only in to football. (NFL)

I really like Madden '08, and the Wii Madden games have all scored between 76 and 82 on Metacritic.

Now, baseball sims on Wii are garbage. I just stick with MVP Baseball 2005 for GameCube for my baseball sim.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Lol that sounds like me. I enjoy sports game on video consoles mainly soccer games, basketball games and baseball games especially when I have someone to play them against either in person or online.

Yeah when it comes to watching sports the only one I watch on tv is soccer. Baseball is to bloody boring and football I just dont like.

@Bulbasaurus Rex: The only baseball game I liked on the Wii was Mario Super Sluggers. I did like Bigs 2 on the 360 as well if we are talking about current gen console baseball games.

@ Splat - I buy Madden every year on day one of release. Though I would never buy it for the Wii or PS2 versions though. If those are your only choices though I would probably recommend the Wii version. The graphics are better plus they don't hack out as much content as the PS2. Though controls win out all day on the PS. So depending on whats important to you...

Graphics + Content - Wii
Better Controls - PS2

From what I have seen I hate the graphics on the Wii players look like cartoons, that said I'm not a big graphics guy and I don't judge a game by that.

I think I will just end up renting it on both to be safe.

Going to rent the Wii version tomorrow, I all ready know what to expect from the PS2 version and since I'm down to only the two options I'm going with the Wii version sense it will at least be something different.

I really enjoy Madden 09 on the Wii. If you can find it cheap, I say go for it.

I'm not a big fan of Madden on Wii. I think they should do a Wiimake of NFL Blitz. It was a fun and intuitive game that would translate well to the Wii, IMHO. I started a post re: this in other gaming, BTW.

The verdict is in and while I don't hate it I don't love it either, the game it's self is fine but the controls have a massive learning curve and even after I got it down (for the most part) it's just not the same.

If only they would have a CC option I would be more then fine with the Wii version, that is my only complaint with the game but sadly that is a pretty big complaint on it's own.

Thats why I went with the 360 version of FIFA 10 rather than the Wii. I didnt like the way the controls felt either and I know what you mean how a games controls feel is very important to me too.
