Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music

Despite having typed out that whole list, I've never actually bought a game from WiiWare myself. I think I'll get MotoHeroz, Hydroventure, My Pokémon Ranch, and maybe some of the Art Style games. Any other recommendations?

Is there any quality strategy games in Wii eShop? I already have Military Madness: Nectaris, Ogre Battle (N64 & SNES).

E: Isn't these Final Fantasy games more RPG.

It all started from Game&Watch.

3DS Friend Code 5455 9594 9430.
Switch Friend Code 7313-1538-3028.

@Eagle9 I haven't played them myself so I can't comment on exactly what they're like, but from what I can tell, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Crystal Defenders games are very good strategy games, not standard RPGs like the main Final Fantasy games.

@FinalFrog According to the page for Star Soldier R on Nintendo's website, it can be played offline but a big part of the game is challenging people's scores online, which obviously can't be done any more as Wii games don't have internet functionality any more.

Thank you. I guess I'll pick it up and hope it's not gimped too bad for single player. I didnt want to get a game that couldnt be played at all. I love the soldier games.

Lilt line isn't a Wiiware exclusive. It's also available on phones.

Crystal Defenders R1/R2 are technically unique relative to the Crystal Defenders released for ios and xbox/ps3, but the other releases are far superior and offer much more content for much less cost.

Bust-a-Move Plus is essentially the same game as Bust a Move Live on Xbox.

Also I believe HoopWorld has been delisted, at least in NA.

Bumping this as there's just a few weeks left to add funds to your Wii Shop account.

So will it still be possible to visit the Wii Shop Channel when it's down to its death?

E

My Nintendo: Chewbacca5

Dogorilla

@CHEWBACCA_Ewok After the 26th of March you won't be able to add funds to your account any more, but if you've still got funds in your account after that date you can still use them to buy games, or redownload games you've already bought.

After the 31st of January 2019 you won't be able to buy games from it at all, but it will still be possible to visit the shop and redownload games you've already bought until the full closure at some point later in 2019. So yes, you will still be able to visit it when it's down to its death, for now at least.

@Dogorilla Basically anything from Shin'en, since all of their games are good, although maybe not for all ages, since some are more geared towards children, but they're good games nonetheless. I see someone already recommended FAST Racing League to you, and I couldn't agree any more. It's the basis of the games we now have on the Wii U and the Switch, and it's a great game, that really looks and plays great, especially considering the size limit of 40MB that Nintendo put on Wiiware back then.

You also missed some other Shin'en titles in your list:
Fun! Fun! Mini Golf
Art of Balance
Jett Rocket 2

Fun! Fun! Mini Golf is great fun with family or friends.

As for the other titles already mentioned by others: I also agree with those, especially Excite Bike, the Rebirth games (Castlevania, Contra, Gradius), MotoHeroz, Final Fantasy, Alien Crush Returns, Onslaught and the Art Style games.

Personal favorites, besides the Shin'en games, are Snowboard Riot, Cue Sports: Snooker vs Billiards, Bomberman Blast, Toki Tori, UNO, Frogger Returns, Big Kahuna Party, Bejeweled 2 and the Lost Wind games, even though these last two aren't exclusive to the Wii.

And if you got kids, little nephews, nieces, brothers or sisters, then you can't go wrong with games like Plättchen Twist 'n' Paint or Niki: Rock 'n' Ball. Other good ones for kids are Bonsai Barber and Pop-up Pirate.

EDIT:
Forgot one more personal recommendation...

If you're into RTS games, then Military Madness: Nectaris is one of the best ones available. Like Lost Winds, it isn't exclusive, but who cares if it's a good game...

ImNoBody293

@Dogorilla but can you still use a credit card to buy games?

E

My Nintendo: Chewbacca5

Dogorilla

@ThanosReXXX Thanks for the recommendations! My wallet's gonna hate me... (Also those three Shin'en games you mentioned have all been released on 3DS too, so I didn't miss them )

@CHEWBACCA_Ewok Until the 26th of March, yes. After that, no.

@Dogorilla No problem, man. And credits to you for compiling that list. Forgot to mention that earlier.

As for those Shin'en games: Jett Rocket works equally good on the big or small screen, but the Wii versions of Art of Balance and Fun! Fun! Mini Golf are in my opinion FAR more engaging than the 3DS versions, mainly because of it being more interactive, especially the golf game, because of the Wii remotes, and even more so with multiple players. That's something you can't replicate on a handheld.

Just over a week left to add points, so remember to buy any games you want asap.

I was having difficulty downloading games over my internet connection, but I just connected my Wii to a mobile hotspot and it's working ok now. So far I've bought Hydroventure, MotoHeroz, MaBoShi's Arcade, Lilt Line, and Tomena Sanner. I don't want to spend too much in one go so I'll probably only get another one or two games, but it's a shame to miss out on so many good ones. Hopefully some of the developers will port the games to Switch or other modern consoles, otherwise there'll be no (legal) way to play them any more. I know there were rumours of Konami's ReBirth games coming to Switch, which I hope turns out to be true.

Edit: Also bought Art Style: light trax, and I've got 900 points left in my account which I think I'll spend on Pulseman (a Mega Drive platformer by pre-Pokémon Game Freak, for those who don't know). Not sure yet if I'll buy any others.
