@superzeldaman: i'm pretty sure he said he's banned from here in his YouTube channel comments, so unless he e-mails the mods about it and tries to work things out, i doubt it.

I think it definately will be. The DSi shop will just get better and better like all download services.
I play my GBA and GB games more than anything so if you dont have anything else to play them on well then it might not be cause the backlog of games on GBA is way better than DSi shop at the moment. But you can pick up a SP really cheap.

I think it is NOT worth it because:
1.DSi browser also exists on DS and Wii and on computers for free
2.2 cameras (.3 mp) are crap compared to cell phone cameras or camera cameras
3.DSiware titles are mostly crap
4.DSi exclusives titles are non-existent
5.Plays AAC music files which no-one uses
6.Bigger screen which is good... if you're a granny
7.Better sound but everyone uses headphones anyway
8.Flipnote studios but paper is better
9.More to come which means you couldn't come up with a 9th reason

It's worth it if you absolutely love the Art Style games, or if you share that silly, unfounded faith that the system will get its own Virtual Console despite Nintendo's constant denials and their general lack of VC support on the Wii. But otherwise, Clickety Click's reasons are good reasons to ignore it.

I absolutely love the Art Style games.

2.2 cameras (3 mp, and .3 mp) are crap compared to cell phone cameras or camera cameras - They're better than one may think.
3.DSiware titles are mostly crap - Depends on your taste in gaming.
4.DSi exclusives titles are non-existent Art Style DSi series anyone?
5.Plays ACC music files which no-one uses - It sounds better than MP3's, and I USE IT.
6.Bigger screen which is good... if you're a granny - Or for people who have less-than-normal strength vision.
7.Better sound but everyone uses headphones anyway - Ear buds suck as it is, and some headphones aren't very protable.
8.Flipnote studios but paper is better - Tree killer Plus paper doesn't add sound effects and camera integration.
9.The matte finish is wonderful compared to glossy.

I think I made my case.

If you'r buying your first DS today, then there's no other option than DSi.

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

The quoting thing is getting confusing so let's take this fight outside... of quotations.
"The DS Lite browser is hard to find in stores, unless you want to buy online."

Gosh darn, maybe while I'm shopping for my DS browser online on my computer, I can do all the browsing I want at the same time! I think it's quite funny you list "larger screen" and "browser" as pros on the same list. If a larger screen is better, then surely a computer browser is always better than the DSi browser thanks to screen size. The internet on tiny devices is awful.

"They're better than one may think."

0.3 MP?! Ok well if you're happy with My First Camera - I'm A Big Kid Now Edition, then there's nothing more to say.

DSiware titles are mostly crap - "Depends on your taste in gaming"

Of course. If you like bad games, then the DSi is right up your alley.

DSi exclusives titles are non-existent "Art Style DSi series anyone?"

You already mentioned DSiware. You can't count something twice on a list of pros or else it looks desperate.

"It sounds better than MP3's"

Which I'm sure you can appreciate thru your tinny little DSi speakers.

"The matte finish is wonderful compared to glossy."

iyo. Too bad you only have two colours to choose from. As a big fan of the colour blue, I didn't think it was possible, but yes, they managed to pick an absolutely heinous shade of blue.

@clicketyclick Black is a fine color for handheld devices. DSi exclusive carts are (supposedly) going to be developed. MP4 (aka AAC) are TECHNICALLY superior to MP3, and easy to convert via itunes for free. It also sounds like you don't take pictures very well, since I am a photography student and I take fine pictures, even with DSi cameras. And I had to buy my DS Lite browser from freaking Ebay, risking a pirated copy. Plus DSiware is still in it's infancy, with great games already released such as Mighty Flip Champs, Mario VS DK, and Asphalt 4 among others.

"Black is a fine color for handheld devices."

Well it's not a colour is it? Black is great and all, but as Iranian women might say, it's also nice to have some choice.

"DSi exclusive carts are (supposedly) going to be developed."

Well as long as we're not relying on promises of good things to come in the future justifying our investments now like Sony does...

"MP4 (aka AAC) are TECHNICALLY superior to MP3, and easy to convert via itunes for free."

And it's super fun to go through your entire library of music to convert everything, when the DSi could have had the functionality to play mp3 from the beginning. Converting doesn't improve sound quality.

"It also sounds like you don't take pictures very well, since I am a photography student and I take fine pictures, even with DSi cameras."

Even your superior edumacated photography skills can't compensate for a 0.3 mp camera. Pics look fuzzy at a certain size, no matter how nicely you've framed them. It really is 'My First Camera'. Especially if you're a photography student, you should have a much better (and probably non-digital) camera.

I've tested and compared MP3 to MP4. Result? MP4 sounds better. Proven FACT.

Edumacated is not a word.

I like the DSi, the glossy plastic finish of the original DS makes it look cheap.

There's not really a point in listening to someone else's criticisms on a product they don't own.

I was sceptical about upgrading for ages but was swayed by releases on dsi ware ... in OTHER parts of the world. Once I heard about the Japanese having Game & Watch and Electroplankton I was sold in the hope of them being released elsewhere. I also did not realise that Mario vs Donkey Kong and Mighty Flip Champs were not out in the EU yet. More too look forward to I suppose.
I like puzzle games & having more choice of what to play on a portable system without carrying all of my carts around

Well that's certainly a great approach if you want to restrict the perspectives you hear to only those by fans or people with terrible judgment.

I think the bigger screen and much better sound are worth it, and there are a few cool DSiware games to download. Once the virtual handheld comes out, then a DSi will be the obvious choice, in my opinion anyway.
