Yesterday I drove down to my local Hastings store to look for a gift for my friend. As I was fishing through a bargain bin full of videogames, I came across Samba De Amigo for the Wii. Whadayaknow, the game was only $10. I'm a pretty cheap person when it comes to buying gifts for people, so this game looked like it was right up my alley, at least price-wise. As I looked over the other games in the bin, I realized that most of them were shovelware, like Anubis 2, Game Party 2, Ninjabread Man, etc., which made me wonder: Is Samba De Amigo a low quality, shovelware game like the rest of its amigos in the bargain bin?
After reading some very mixed reviews on the internet, I was wondering what you guys think. Should I buy Samba De Amigo for my friend? Is it a good deal that I shouldn't pass up?
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

It is definitely NOT shovelware. It's pretty darn cool and fun. Even better, you can get a set of maracas attachments from Gamestop for like $4.99. While not necessary, they make the game even more hilarious.

Samba de Amigo is not bad at all. Just don't go in expecting it to be exactly like the Dreamcast version. It controls fairly well aslong as you remember to keep your wrists rotated the right ways. (Up for top, to the side for middle, and down for bottom.)
It may or may not be a good present, depending on whether your friend is willing to learn the controls first or not.
The controls are the biggest problem, but if you use 2 Wii-remotes instead of Wii-remote+Nunchuck then you should be fine (at least, that was my experience).
