Topic: Is my wii dead?

sigh Turned it on today - red light went green, then red.

Tried again, same result.

Then the power light just went off, and has stayed that way...and it ain't working.

So, is there anything I can do, or should I cancel my preorder for xenoblade and wait for WiiU?

Unplug the power cord from the outlet and your wii. Wait a couple hours. It should work now.

OK, I'll give it a go...had a look at nintendo support, and tbh, things arent looking good...it was working perfectly yesterday though, so, I have hope!

Don't bother waiting for the Wii U, you could be in a Wii-less position for a long time.

I don't know what to suggest to make it work though, it's never happened to me, just take it to a Wii mechanic.

I it's going to work, you only need to do this for around 2 or 3 minutes. Unplug both ends for that time. I have a power outage and my wii wouldn't even light up after until I did this.

And @Jango, I'm off to uni shortly anyway, and won't be taking the wii with me, so no point getting a new one (and from a purely financial standpoint, I reaaaally don't have the money), when I won't really get as much opportunity to play it. Hopefully, WiiU is, at worst, going to be christmas 2012, and in the meantime I have a 3DS to entertain me

Well, I fixed it by buying a new power cable, which was nice. Thanks for all your help though guys.
