Are you saying that it deserves a high mark, based completely on how fun it is for the first few days?
Where did you even get that idea? The game is deep, challenging, has moderate replay value, has online play, has BB support (have yet to try) and it's at a reasonable price. Surely the game doesn't deserve a "mediocre" rating in my books. I can still see myself playing this weeks from now.
Fair enough. A quick question: Beyond the game's robot customization, just how deep is it?
Pretty deep, the story mode tournaments and online modes keep the game going for awhile.
Its a remake, what did he expect? And if he never liked it, why is he reviewing it?
Because reviewers don't always get to review the games they like. Fact of life. Most sites just don't have those types of resources with as many titles as we see released on a continuous basis. And while I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this is another classic example of why I encourage people to read multiple reviews.

Aren't the tournaments just connected 1 on 1 matches? What are the online modes? I've only heard of Battle Royale so far.
There are 1 on 1 online matches and Battle Royale, which is online 4 player deathmatch.
And yes the tournaments are just 1 on 1 matches, but the various difficulties keeps the player on their toes. There is also a survivor mode tournament that can be unlocked, which basically tests how many robots you can defeat (basically a never-ending tournament)
@Pixelman- After the main single pler tournaments there's other hard tournament modes. I beat 2 of them. so far I've seen emperor, Devil, and Demigod mode. Get's pretty hard when so many are coming at you. I finally decide to stop for awhile to chill out because it gets so hard now. Also this is a very polished and thought out game in my opinion.
Edit- I also like how the some weapons animate and how a couple of robots transform for attacks. That's sweet.
Sigh........ . He gave the game a 5.7, which is just above average. Complaining about this is just idiotic. You can't get your panties in a twist just because a game you liked got an average score.

@The Fox - It's not just about the score, it's about the quality and the content of the review. He barely goes into any detail regarding the gameplay, he compares it to a series of games with which it shares very little in common, and he spends half of the review complaining about stupid things such as the arenas not having crowds.
I think the biggest problem with the way IGN is doing reviews is pretty much giving all the content to one guy (Daemon) to review. He simply can't review everything he is given, and that leads to games seeping through the cracks. Also, when someone hates the motion concept of Wii (which Daemon does), it seems that the game reviews he would make on Wii would be pretty biased against them. Note, of course, that it might be that bad. However, Helix was probably closer to a 6 game than the 4 he gave it. Good but flawed. Watching the review made me discredit it; he was playing a dancing game sitting down! D:

Well, I can't argue about the review being written poorly. The thing is that it's a bit odd to make a whole thread to complain about it.

That Turtles In Time Reshelled review has got me riled up. Piss poor review. Team XBOX gave it an 8.8. Come on now IGN, that much of a difference? This game is one of the best beat em ups ever made. How in the world could Ubisoft mess it up so bad by only adding "better" graphics. Your mad that you can't play with the original graphics and you should be able to with the high price point? Wah! 10 dollars is really gonna break the bank ay? I payed 15 for the cart a few years ago and it was money well spent.
I'm at work or I would rant more. So, for now, up your nose with a rubber hose IGN.
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with everyone's complaint of the score given to the game, but the reason the critic complained about there not being an audience cheering you on is because this was stated in the manual: "all seats are filled with fanatic spectators as they root on the battles fought in the Master Tournament arena."
The 1 on 1 matchs are hardly dull. whiping back and forward despretly trying to shoot eachother while narowly evading attacks. Unless you both are rather poor at the game and are incapable of hiting a moveing target Oh and their is a point to useing the balence board it make your movement much more eratic and you become a much harder to hit target.
EDIT: and of course theirs no audience all thoes wayward bullets woud kill so many
