I originally had a lot of kit and not much room so it was on its side, but the fan was slightly obstructed and the unit got too hot. Then I sold off my MD decks and took out one of the shelves in the TV stand/media cabinet and now I've got the two Wiis vertical in their stands with a little digital clock between them. They are glorious!
I have mine on it's side mostly, since I play VC games and Smash Bros. alot (GCN controllers). As Sean said, it get's very hot like this, so when I'm not playing, I usually set it back upright.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
On the stand. Just wondering why is this important?
Its not really Important persay i'm one of NL's members though thats asks questions that are well "Decent". I don't like questions like some people saying Alex Says Sucks or Tails86 sucks I mean its just spam. I though try to make a topic that everyone can enjoy like my Reviews

Used to use the stand, however with GCN Controller cables and such accidently getting knocked over the Wii while playing or not, the Wii console I've got is more stable in the horizontal position, slightly at an angle facing more left, and not head-on. Like a 70° or 80° angle. Slightly under and behind the tv. Near the edge, as to facilitate better Wi-fi signal or so. Note: It's on a flat surface.
