Final Fantasy games are all separate and for good reason. Everyone knows that but you I guess. Besides Crisis Core which is an actual sequel unlike your silly nilly Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Then there's FFX-2, FF13-2, etc.
Phantom Hourglass is a direct (takes place rught at the end) to wind waker.
Compilation Final Fantasy VII (they real need to release a collection) Crisis Core Before Crisis Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus Advent Children
The X duet Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy X-2
The Ivalice Alliance Final Fantasy Xii Xii: Revenant wings Tactics: war of the lions Tactics A2: grimore of the rift
Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantsy XII-2 Final Fantasy Verus XIII Final Fantasy Type-0
The IV duet Final fantasy IV Final fantasy IV the after years
The Final Fantasy series has alot of direct sequels.

But every Zelda pretty much sums up the same storyline over and over. Which is boring. Then you have the fans trying to connect them which not only give me a headache and makes them look silly, but shows that the Zelda franchise is just... well, silly.
I'm assuming you never really played a CoD campaign before so I'll just leave it at that.
If your complaining that about a Legend repeated over and over with Slight differences (though the games make reference to each other) than I fear you don't know the basis of simple story telling.
In real-life "No Russians" wouldn't start WWIII.
....well it's obvious you've never paid attention to a Call of Duty storyline. A legend is retold generation after generation... of the same story. After years it's mixed up a little and retold with modern day excitement!
In the 1990s if you were saying words like "bloody" and "scallywag" to kids in Detroit, they would be confused and very much put off. But that's the way it was told years ago in British language. So now the dad has to retell it and make it INTERESTING for the newer generation.
See where I said retelling? That means it's not connected in anyway. But then there's Majora's Mask, Zelda 2, PH, and ST. Which are all understandable titles for being "sequels." Not much of sequels but great games nonetheless.

Dude I grew up in Detroit in the 90's (still live there now) I knew what Bloody and Scallywag meant.

Did you not read my last few posts? I know which one are sequels. And Final Fantasy was only brought up from kkslider. I never said anything about FF until he brought it up. But great list, lol.
If my dad said that when he was telling a story, I would be very uninterested. Or if I was teenager? Forget it. Forget it.
Skyward Sword is connected to OOT, which then is connected to both WW and TP. I already made this to show you a basic summary of the stories and how they happen. I left out the story for Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks because they don't really contribute to the main events.
Here is a non-biased, non-fanboy opinion on how easy and fun it is to connect the Zelda timeline.
Is that the Gametrailers one?
My only complaint with the Zelda Universe is the Lack of Technological progression. In skyward sword they show that past was full of technolgical wonders. Most of these games are 100s to 1000s of years apart. I know great evils keep coming but tech should still be moving forward. Even if they don't go full on tech like the past, Steampunk would be the logical next step.

I guess Zelda 2 aint a sequel then and is irrelevant unless the releases storyline. I'm not one of those people who puts Minish Cap as the first game because that's where he gets his hat. These games are in the order Nintendo said they go in minus the 3 Flagship games.
Unless Miyamoto releases the storyline, your opinion is irrelevant.
Well Anouma has given the timeline placment many of times. Miyamoto has only really said that Before Skyward Sword OOT was the first story in the game. He has also said that most plotting and scenario writing is done by anouma.

For story purposes one part of Skyward sword could have been retconed to fit into Zelda's II story. I realize why the couldn't but it would have been a good nod.
