Nintendo has an AMAZING lineup this year, but I know I definitely can't afford to buy all the games they're coming out with. I'm planning on doing the same thing I've always done, which is buy older games on my wishlist while I wait for the price on some of the big ones to go down. What about you guys; are you planning on buying every one of these must-have games that are coming out?
Well, since I was behind on NSMB Wii, I've just bought that - my next retail purchase on Wii will be Super Mario Galaxy 2, which is a day-one purchase, followed by Metroid: Other M (after I've finished Super metroid), then Zelda. I'm almost hoping nothing crops up inbetween those three.
DS is slightly worse on my wallet. I have SoulSilver preordered so I'll get it on 26 March. Still need to get Spirit Tracks. Annoyingly, now interested in Picross 3D. Then there's Golden Sun DS, possibly Sonic Classic Collection (though I'll probably end up getting them on VC), probably gonna get the first Professor Layton at some point, then... oh, still need Mario & Luigi 3 too.
Ill get SMG2 for my birthday, buy SS, WW:DIY and Metroid.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Well My budget is only for the Wii and DS. Since my PS3 is just getting no love...I'm interested in Blaze Blue and maybe Super Street Fighter IV. But hell, even the God of War 3 demo didn't get me pumped or excited. It's got the presentation, graphics and sound down pat...and i guess it's kind of fun, but ehh...It doesn't do anything new besides upping the flash and sound and yadah yadah...but you cant expect innovative controls on the PS3 or 360. It would of been nice to have IR Controls when using your Fire Bow ;p Again 3D Brawlers don't exactly do it for me so what can ya do.
Anyways, I've got 23 Wii games in my Collection. And there are 8 out right now that i still need to get, Not to mention the many more to come this year! ;D and oh nooo, there are around 20 for the DS that i still need to get as well hehe ;p

Zack & Wiki Wario Ware Smooth Moves Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition Resident Evil: Archives Wii Sports Resort A Boy & his Blob Dead Space: Extraction Monkey Ball Banana Blitz Wii Play House of the Dead: 2 & 3 Return Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus New Super Mario Bros. Wii Excitebots Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Elebits Pikmin (NPC)
Still need to get
No more Heroes 2 Tatsunoku Vs Capcom Murumasa: The Demon Blade Wii Fit Plus Mario Kart Wii Boom Blox Bash party Endless Ocean: Blue World Little King's Story
1st Half of 2010
Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Fling Smash Sin & Punishment 2 Tetris Party Deluxe Red Steel 2
Buying used older games like I always do (in good condition of course). I rather buy 6-7 used GCN games for 50 bucks than 1 new Wii game. I'm getting the new Metroid, Mario, Monster Hunter and other anticipated games probably in 2013 or so for a sweet price. ^^ Ace Attorney Investigations, Zelda Wii and (maybe) Last Window are the only upcoming games that I'm getting this year.
I'll be focusing on WiiWare though, like last year. It's looking better than ever with a new Mega Man, 2 new Art Styles, Worms, Wario and Sonic.
I have only ever purchased two games immediately upon release, and I did so as much to show my support, as I was eager to get the games in my hand. They were: Sky Crawlers and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I am going to purchase Monster Hunter Tri (as a bundle) for the same reason, but then I'll probably go back to waiting for price drops and used versions as there is nothing else on my list which really screams "buy me now".
Currently playing: Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA), Infinite Space (NDS)

But seriously I'm only really interested in DS/DSiWare and Wii/WiiWare games right now. And a few things on Steam. A lot of awesome stuff is coming out soon and I can tell this is going to be a great year for gaming. I'm definitely going to stagger my purchases over the next half year or so, or I'm going to have that dilemma of too many games and too little time. Like I did when trying to catch up on all the great PS2 RPGs.
By only buying new games if they're essential. So far this year I've only spent about $11 on games, which was the shipping cost of sending two away to others.
Arrr! I become a pirate and plunder villages and steal all their food. Then I would sail out and catch the scurvy. Arrrrr! (No, not a software pirate, those are not real pirates )
Oh wait, I still don't have a game.....oh well, I'm a pirate!!
Current games: Everything on Switch

If I can scrape up the cash, I plan to buy as many games I'm really interested in at release as possible. This includes WarioWare DIY, Super Mario Galaxy 2, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Picross 3D, Epic Mickey, and possibly that 100-book thing for DS. Probably also more I'm not thinking of ATM. Before you wonder where certain titles are on my list: I'll be getting Pokémon SoulSilver for my birthday and my brother will buy Metroid: Other M and the new Zelda.
New games I've already purchased this year: Ace Attorney Investigations, Heavy Rain, and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (PS3 version).
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
I'm just gonna wait as always, apart from SMG2 and Fallout New Vegas which I'll be getting on release day ,all the other games I want will be half the price within 6 months. I'm always about 6months to a year behind anyway. It saves me a fortune and as I'm not a fan of online then it really makes no difference to me. But I'm promising myself not to buy anymore games till I've finished the ones I've got how often have I told myself that!.........
Right now, I can't get squat in terms of gaming, due to a lack of a job. However, once I get one, I'll work up for an Nintendo 64 first, and then, divide my spending money between that and the Nintendo Wii.
Games that I will be getting for the Wii this year: Monster Hunter Tri Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Epic Mickey Zelda Wii 2 (Depending if the game comes out this year)
Granted I'll need a job in order to generate funds first, but I'm hoping that won't be an issue by May, if not June...

I don't really think I budget what I buy when it comes to video games, but I do know I have too many games that I need to finish before I keep buying new ones.
I got one of my priorities bought today (a SNES), need to buy next: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Tickets and extra cash to buy games at the Game Core Con Sonic Classic Collection when it goes to $20
