@Kaiser It's vastly superior to Wii Sports, even though it does take everything but golf and bowling out. However, I'm still addicted to the 100 pin bowling on WSR. But as that decepticreep, irken said, archery is awesome on there.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Hehe, I like to think I'm shooting Optimus's head
Bowling is still fun, though it's very similar to the version in the first Wii Sports. And trying to get Stamps for each sport adds to the replay value.
As for Ghostslayer, I'll give it a try when I get my next points card.
yeah, I have it right now borrowed and ping pong is really dang addictive not to mention the sword battles. I need to buy it sometime so I can get my own mo+
I actually thought the non-motion plus controls worked pretty well -- certainly better than Tenchu's mixed results in detecting your swing direction!
There's a decent level of challenge (still haven't cleared the 2nd stage) with 8 stages and two additional difficulty levels to unlock. If you like the fencing in Wii Sports Resort then you'll enjoy this; on Novice I find the ghosts far tougher than the fencing opposition in WSR.
Is this a "puzzle" game in that the opponents perform the same attacks each time you play? House of the Dead, for example. Or is there dynamic content and some AI involved?

I suppose it is sort of like that. The enemies have their attack patterns but you have to have fast reflexes to respond to an enemy's attack quickly.
I have to say I have been enjoying the game. I think anyone who liked the sword play in WSR will enjoy this. Its got 8 stages, 3 levels of difficulty, 2 characters, 4 types of swords, life and special power upgrades. Not very deep but fun. I dont think theres a diff in characters and there may not be in sword type other than appearance(Ive only unlocked one other sword so Im not sure yet) the levels are all similar, travel a short path and fight but at the end of the day its still a fun and challenging time. The 600 pt price is right on, 800 or 1000 wouldve been too high. Im actually surprised at the level of difficulty, you need to be quick with your reflexes and the control is spot on when using a motion plus. I would love to see more games like this but with a 3rd person POV and not on rails. Im just happy I can use my motion plus with something else as well. Hopefully this will be a popular download so more developers will follow suit.
It definitely didn't feel like Punch-Out!! to me Chicken, if that's what you're asking. With motion plus you can sometimes get under the sword-bearing ghost's guard. It's not a deep game, but I think it's pretty entertaining and I don't feel put out by spending 600 points. Without motion plus some of the shine is lost, but it's still playable, just a little more clunky since you change sword angle and then lock it in place. On the plus side you don't have to worry about your motions being read improperly, which is what I think the devs were concerned about.
Did anything think the game would work without motion plus? Sorry to say, well no I'm not sorry, but the Wii's motion detection without M+ is a joke, that's why M+ came out.

Well as I said before, the controls are glitchy at best without Wii Motion Plus but I suppose they could be usable if you stuck to it and got used to them. I don't really think that's fair to say that the Wii's motion capabilities flat out sucked before Motion Plus though. Alot of games have well designed motion controls without the assistance of Motion Plus. This just isn't the type of game that can be very well done with the original hardware.
The 1:1 mechanics make the game for me. Even on Novice though, getting the timing down is HARD. Not due to imprecise controls mind you, but the fact that the enemies are so quick. Sorta like Punch-Out!!, sometimes it's difficult to find out the enemies' "tales" before it's too late. The challenge is seems to be a little ramped up even on Novice due to the overall short length of the (only 8) stages. There are some flaws such as how slowly your character moves on his "rail".
Overall I love this game though. Quite a bit more than WSR actually. It's a bit uglier and the enemies have no sort of shadow (a pet peeve of mine) but the controls are great and very satisfying. A must play for sword fighting fans with motion plus, especially with it's low WiiWare price point.

Red steel 2 developer said it best: WM plus is good for tennis, baseball, various other sports and swordfighting. If youre interested in those you should have it by now.
wii motion works very well without wm+. It just can't do full rotations because it lacks a gyroscope. It's irrelevant for most games, it's not like the motions are inaccurate without it, it just can't detect rotation in a significant way.
glad to hear the game turned out well. Will d/l.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
I find blocking can be tricky sometimes im sure I've blocked and I get hit
I think if they did a sequal they should mix some shooting action in there too using the wii pointer. Perhaps be nice to deflect some long range enemy attacks too.
I haven't played it too long, but would be nice if the background did more, spooky trees or ghosts of villagers etc..,
It's a good start and happy to have some more swordplay action.
Wii sports resorts, Ghost Slayer, Rage of the Gladiator, Red Steel 2, Dynamic slash (can't spell the japanese name) which hopefully will come to Europe/USA.
Great to see all these hack n slash titles for the wii

I've noticed that although the ghosts appear to telegraph their swings, often they'll actually come at you from a different direction than the one they were last holding the sword in which definitely makes it more challenging.
My roommates walked in on me playing Ghostslayer shortly after I bought it and asked what it was. "A bonus sword fighting level in Wii Sports Resort". They were pretty taken aback, haha. Jokes aside, I finished the game today on all difficulties and unlocked everything. It was fun while it lasted, but I really don't see any need to play it anymore other than to up my high scores. I found that after you beat it on easy and continue to upgrade your character's stats, the game gets disappointingly easy because you're so overpowered (even in hard difficulty). Blegh, no fun.
