well i guess if you saw the hottest perfect girl for you, nice @$$ and such but her boobs were too small, you would not go out with her?

What's so wrong with small breasts?
Besides, that can easily be fixed with plastic surgery.

thats what im trying to say, you cant just find one thing wrong when there is a million thats right!

Well I never said there was a million things right with Super Mario Galaxy, I just said Boswer Jr. had a horrible laugh. And besides, I think one little thing can ruin an entire experience for someone, it just depends on how much of an impact that one little thing has on the aforementioned someone.

oh yeah, this is the best thing i've heard about this game yet. I always hoped that 3d- mario's would someday take this direction.

do you have to beat one level before you play another? or can you skip some like in 64, sunshine, and galaxy, if you wanted to?

Well, I guess they could still make galaxys unlockable by getting stars and all.
I didn't like the hub world in Galaxy, but didn't dislike it. I thought that Super Mario Sunshine's was the best of the 3D Marios, because there was so much to explore, with Shines hidden everywhere. I think they've just got to make a better hub-world... (but Sunshine's will always be the best )

@Starkiller - I definitely agree with you about the central hub in Sunshine. I loved just going around and exploring Delfino Plaza! But I still prefer Super Mario 64, even though the main reason is because it was the first Mario game that I ever really got into.

Whatever they'll choose to do, it'll be awesome. Although it's hard to do better than the perfect game.

So ends a saga older than time itself.

...Hmm. Interesting decision. On one hand, I wasn't a big fan of Galaxy's hub world. On the other hand, Mario 64 and Sunshine especially had fantastic hub worlds--Isle Delfino is one of my all time favorite game locations. I think this direction works, simply because it takes place in space (and it would be difficult to give the sequel a real sense of context--the first one was kind of pushing it) but I'll have to play it before I can pass any real judgement on it.

True, but he didn't do..."the laugh"!

Hmm, I don't really know what to think of this decision. Regardless, I WANT SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Comet Observatory was one of the few good things about Super Mario Galaxy.

Everything was good about Mario Galaxy.

Everything? Like when Bowser Jr. laughs? You didn't seriously think that was a "good" thing did you?

The laugh was bad!?!

Finally, no more of Rosalina's stupid Storytime! Seriously, that was one of the flaws for the first game with me.

It was completely optional, how was it a flaw?

Awesome news! already an improvement over the original. Honestly, I just wasn't a big fan of the HubWorld.

This doesn't bode well for those of us who were hoping Galaxy 2 would be less linear.

I like the nonlinearity of the hubworlds too. I usually go in order anyway, so I'm not too worried about the change. I like having the option of doing things in whatever order I want though.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

Awesome! I didn't like the hub in SMG.

And I bet the progression won't be entirely linear. The maps will probably have multiple paths that branch off. :3

@ Willy 105
I thought so.

@ Dragoon
I thought "Rosalina's storytime", though misplaced, was a nice touch. It would have worked better as the opening movie scene.

SuperMarioFan96

The only thing I'm worried about in this decision: There won't be as much variety. Super Mario Bros. 3 and most (possibly all....) other 2D Mario games' maps included 8 worlds, with all the levels in one world having similar qualities. Super Mario Galaxy, on the other hand, had more than 40 different galaxies that provided a great amount of variety. Now, there's a chance that they'll do it a little differently than in the 2D ones, but still, I guess we should just wait and see.....
