I love me some fighting games, I really do. What I'm interested in, is whether there have been fans of the fighting games that have appeared on the Wii. And I don't mean Super Smash Bros. or even the upcoming Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I mean the gesture based fighting games that have been released on the console like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. What did you guys think about gesture based fighting games?

Meh. I honestly think cramming gesture-activated special moves in fighting games is a bad idea. It adds nothing and gives wrist strain. If using the motion controls makes things harder than using the dpad/analog, it's time to reconsider your strategy.

I only played Armageddon and I didn't liked the motion movements. They seemed a bit out of place.

Guestures for a traditional fighter is just terrible, however DBz: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was freaking awesome. (Online was just terrible though). I'm looking forward to Gladiator A.D. to see if High Voltage Studios could actually get it right. If you going to do a fighter using motion controls, it'll have to be build from the ground up. Also, it has to be a behind the back view to match your body movements. If developers would take motion controls much more seriously, fighters could be taken to the next level. (It would be nice if FIght Night would come to the Wii build with WM+ and the Balance Board in mind, man, that would be freaking outstanding).

I like them in DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. However, I don't like them in Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2, so I just use a GameCube Controller in that game.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
