Alright, by now we've all read this news item, so the question remains: what are some respectable online retailers from whom one can import the game?
The eBay options are less than encouraging, at the moment, so I'm guessing that a Japanese online retailer (with the unavoidably high shipping costs) would be the proper route, but I don't know of any offhand.
EDIT: "Google it" or lmgtfy responses will be greeted with Wario's full scorn.
Play-Asia has copies in the ballpark of $70 US that ship in a week or so. They're a pretty reputable site too so you wouldn't have to worry about getting ripped off.
Many thanks; that deal sounds good to me. I'd rather pay $70 and have peace of mind than seek out a cheaper alternative from a lesser known retailer or auction site.
I'm still a little confused on this FF thing. Aren't the games region-locked, so i wouldn't be able to play it on a NA Wii? Or does the translation patch do an end-run around the region lock as well? I have HBC so i can work around the region lock myself, but my impression is that's not necessary.
I was going to order this from Play-Asia today, but they’re already out of stock. There are some other options, of course, but I’m wondering if this game might be cheaper and easier to buy used from eBay or something in a little while, if lots of Westerners are importing this game now. What should I do, import now or wait and hope it drops in price and increases in accessibility?
