I don't know. Why isn't Rondo of Blood released either? I've been waiting what feels like Duke Nukem Forever for that and Herzog Zwei to show up, and after C64 came to the US, I expected IK+ and Jumpman sometime this century. It makes me glad I've got the "Quake and Emulators Channel" if you catch my drift. I got tired of the runaround a loooong time ago.
At least, like Rondo of Blood, Konami has ported the game to a handheld system. (Contra is on Contra 4)
I'd also like to experience their RocketKnight Adventures games as well (I don't own a MegaDrive, but I do own an SNES; so maybe someday I'll order Sparkster for the SNES...). Come on, Konami, you great company, you [hopefully this encouragement will entice Konami, but I feel it wouldn't]. Anyway, it confuses how such a great run'n'gun like Contra III: The Alien Wars/Super Probotector gets released on the VC, and the original doesn't. It makes no sense, although I looked up that Contra 4 (which I haven't yet played) has arcade versions of the original Contra and Super Contra.
