It's an okay dungeon crawler with cheerful graphics. I found it a bit slow at times, but not too bad. It's not too difficult either. If you can get it cheap I'd say go for it!
I point you to my avatar. I love this game. It's my second most played Wii game. It's not hugely difficult (by Mystery Dungeon standards), and it's a cheerful cute game. Chocobo is awesome.
As for a sequel, I doubt it. H.A.N.D is working on other things these days.
Card battles play out a bit like "my first Magic The Gathering." As you quest you collect cards, by defeating enemies or fulfilling other conditions. There's about 130 of them. From that you make a deck of 20 or 30 or so (it's been a while since I played this). And you can battle your friends.
It's addictive, and as a minigame a heck of a lot of fun. It's also exactly the same system as the DS Chocobo Fables card game, if you've played that.
I got my friend to go on a Gamestop run for me, hopefully when he comes over tomorrow he brings the game (if he finds it). Would you be willing to play me Cards Waltz? Or anyone else on here with the game?
Right after you get to the Mog House, you can play it right away, as in you get a deck, or you have to collect 30 cards first. Edit: Haha yes! I know he got the game! I did a Gamestop search and Chocobo's Dungeon is no longer listed on there. Now I wait.

Love your new avatar
From vague memory, you start with enough cards - a basic deck - to play straght away.
This is actually one of my favorite games on the Wii. I was a fan of Shiren the Wanderer: Mystery Dungeon game on the DS so this was a no-brainer for me. Nowhere near as tough as Shiren but still a lot of fun. I'm still holding out hope for a sequel one day.
One of my favorite Wii games, too. I started replaying it the other day, actually. If there is eventually a sequel, it'd better have decent voice acting, or none at all.

I have the two PlayStation ones from the Japanese PSOne classics PSN store - and the DS version of the Wii game (which adds in Cid sections) and yeah, I'd love to see this series revisited. Preferably in 3D because Chocobo in 3D would be awesome.
I can't believe they didn't put him in Sports Mix?! Out of all of the Spin-Off kings... should have taken out slime. When I get a 3D I will get Chocobo Racing, I will also get Chocobo Tales on the DS.
I haven't been on here as much, but I am in love with this game. Btw I keep finding a little Chocobo in the pond, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. It doesn't do anything. I thought it was funny at first but its creeping me out.

You can buy those in Japan. Chocobo Rubber Duckies!
I love those little personality easter eggs in Chocobo Dungeon.
