Topic: Best non-Nintendo racing games for Wii?

I realised recently that the only Wii Racing games I have are Mario Kart Wii and Excite Truck. [excluding Virtual Console games]. So, are there any other good games you would recommend?

Speed Racer. Lots of controls to get to grips with, but when you do, it's some super-sweet racing action.

I am nut and love the realism of Gran Turismo!

Burnout Takedown.

"Ferrari Challange" is a class A+ racing simulation and in that subgenre the best Wii title out now for sure. Play in cockpit view and with the Wii Wheel for maxed fun.

As long as you dont try using the horribly broken motion controlls, Sonic Riders : Zero Gravity is also a very solid racing game with interesting gravity controls and an on the fly leveling up system.

I did not play Speed Racer yet, but I am interested in and you might get it very cheap now.

@Kadunta. I found it a tad easy also, but i got so good at car-fu it was awesome fun. Kinda helps that I love the movie, watched it in HD the other day and had a 'spiritual moment' when he finishes that last race.

And i knew there was 1 more racing game I hadn't tried, Ferrari Challenge, I need to get that but probably won't what with F1'09 on the horizon (YES!!).

Sorry, can't recommend any yet. There hasn't been a single decent third-party racing game on the Wii, and Nintendo established the weapon-based racing franchise with Super Mario Kart on the Virtual Console. Even then, it still hasn't been released on the Virtual Console yet.

We'll have to put in our hope for Sonic & Sega Superstar Racing, as it's the only racing game I know that coming to the Wii right now.

EDIT: I apoligize for people thinking that I hated all racing games on the Wii. Mario Kart Wii and Excitebots: Trick Racing are good examples of solid Wii racing games and I recommend both of them.

Ferrari Challenge has officially caught my eye. Are there any other games like this available now that are as good or better? I've seen the clips of the upcoming F1 '09 and I'm not too impressed. Hopefully they'll clean it up... a lot.

I just read the Need for Speed: Undercover review by Ant. In it, he states that "we've been led to believe that Wii is around as powerful as the original Xbox, which had some great looking racers on it." Has that been verified? Because like, damn, if that's true then we Wii owners are getting shafted, HARD.
Forza Motorsport on the original Xbox wipes the floor with ANY racing simulator I've seen for the Wii. WTF???

They're making a new Need for Speed for the Wii. It looks AWESOME!
Need for Speed Nitro, I believe it's called. Look it up. It looks beautiful.
Also, Excite Truck is very fun and I heard Excitebots is decent.

Oh shut up. You know well and good that there are good Wii racing games (not a lot, but they're there), but you just want to b!tch about the Virtual Console's supposed "death" some more, like the rest of the complainers. Jeez...

And don't you like how it used to be Sega Superstars, but now it's SONIC Superstars? HA! It's like they don't believe in their other franchises so they have to put Sonic in the title.
