Have you noticed that Australia & New Zealand has not gotten any new WiiWare games since the release of Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2 back on April 9, 2010? I'm sure they are wondering what's been happening on the lack of new WiiWare games in their region.
At least they will get Cave Story on the same day of its upcoming Euro release date.
They're always getting the short end of the stick. More grievous is the sheer number of retail releases that they never see over there due to the rating system they have.
"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."
It makes sense with retail games, because it's a much smaller market, and it's difficult to ship things over there since they're far away from everything. It's also why games are so expensive (which just reduces demand further).
It doesn't really make sense for downloads though, because you remove all of those issues. It's really just a matter of uploading it to the Aussie shop along with the rest of the PAL territories' shops. I don't think the rating system is really a problem, with the exception of mature games that can't be released (not so big an issue with Nintendo consoles and a nonissue for WW), since there are multiple rating agencies in Europe already. Nintendo of Australia just sucks, I guess.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Though, alot of games do come out on the retail market, infact there are very few anticipated games that are refused classification. It is a major pain up the backside (or upside down backside for you northerners), as we more recently haven't been getting all the games Europe has. It is a total Bit*h.

And can you go a little faster?!
