Topic: A question about memory on the Wii

How do blocks convert into megabites? I need to know the size of N64 games or some WiiWare (water warfare namely), and perhaps NES.

I don't know how blocks convert into megabites, but this might help a little. It shows how many blocks are needed for most games.

1 Wii block is 128 KB. So 8 Wii blocks is 1 MB.

The Wii has 250 megabite of hard drive when initally used.

Has anybody else been prompted to copy data to the SD card because the Wii message board is full? It happened to me last night, I hit yes, then 20 minutes later realised it had crashed. Seemed fine this morning though, and no prompt. Did I dream it?

I've read in the manual about it backing up the message board to SD when it is full but it's obviously not supposed to crash. What a bummer. Sigh.

Yeah, haven't got a clue what happened there, checked back a couple of weeks and all the msgs are still there. My 1st generation Wii is starting to creak a bit me thinks. Oh hang on, I best check my photo's....

Actually I took it apart very carefully, with instructions of course, then poked around a bit, bent some metal (scary i tells ya), and voila, it's good as new. If you had heard it, OMG it was DRIVING ME MAD!

And ergh back on topic, whatever the Wii memory is it's too flippin' small. My 3 yr old phone has more, ug!

Already sent it off twice for laser issues before that and wasn't giving my Wii up again, nooo!

I have an sd card with tons of memory. It's a 2gig camera sd card.

yeah it did have 512 megs, which sucked.. but now, thanks to the sd card technology, space is no longer a problem
