...well, actually I'm sitting right now...whatever.

The PS2 games didn't seem to need HD why would a wii game, and wii HD seems like a bad idea to me, leave that to the wii's successor we don't need differing versions of the wii system.

For a new GTA game the HD would most likely be necessary considering the PS2 will be discontinued very soon and the Wii HD seems like a great idea to me.

The PS2 was also released six years earlier, so nobody was thinking about HD for it.

Exactly meaning it doesn't need it, and splitting the wii userbase in 2 would be a terrible idea, it just doesn't work for consoles never has as far as I know, only works for handhelds.

The only reason they haven't been able to split a userbase in 2 for a console is because Nintendo hasn't tried to do so yet. All they have to do is release an HD wii and it will sale (like the DSi). Some people will keep the regular wii and some will buy the upgraded HD wii. I could care less either way, but I hate it when people talk about stuff like it's out of the question, especially with Nintendo.

Nintendo has tried remember the 64DD.

It wasn't released aywhere else because of poor sales, and yes it was an add-on but the principle is the same, I mean they could make wii-HD an add-on as well as a stand alone unit, the effect would be the same, it would also depend on price controller type extras seem to sell well, but are people simply talking about wii-HD as simply that, I get the impression they mean a DSi style update, by that I mean faster CPU and more RAM.

I so wanted that bit of kit and still do. F-Zero 64DD seemed to me like the best thing since sliced bread, I must own that one day, I MUST!

I'd would probably buy a GTA for Wii if it ever came out but I'm not too fussed if it dosen't. I bought a PS2 slim just to play San Andreas (well that and Time Crisis 3!!) and while i thought it was a good game I enjoyed it most when just goofing around.I would grab a motorbike (Harley Davidson type) and just cruise around the place whilst exploring, listening to that fantastic soundtrack and evading 4**** wanted ratings for hours, great fun ,but the missions do become very samey after a while. I did enjoy chinatown wars a lot on DS, maybe something along those lines on Wii would work better than a crappy port of the PS3/360 game.A WiiTA

Right! Put another title on the Wii that will make parents complain about Nintendo "should be ashamed of themselves for putting such a violent, mature blah blah blah nag nag nag"!!!!

Why would you blame the company for violent games when nobody said you have to buy them.

They have made 3 versions of the DS and each is doing superb.
I think the Wii HD would do great.

But then Nintendo would get a bunch of angry letters from overprotective parents claiming that Nintendo has ruined the family friendly aspect of the Wii. When the game finally came out, casual gamers will be angry about such a mature non-family friendly game coming out, while hardcore gamers will complain because the game uses the wii remote like a steering wheel and doesn't offer classic controller or gamecube controller support. And then of course the graphics in other installments will have to be scaled down to be able to run on the console, making gamers critisize them. Overall, it'll get a crappy score, sell horribly because the series' target audiences aren't mainly Wii fans, and suffer from lack of advertising due to Nintendo's family friendly casual new direction.

In other words, no.

Tell that to all the whiney parents!
