I noticed that Gamestop finally put up the page for A Boy and His Blob, and I just thought I would make a thread for it. It comes on October 13 and will be $40. Who here is excited about it? I know I am!
I was excited when I first saw it. However, I can't really afford this game with all the others I'm looking into like Nostalgia, Prof Layton, Spirit Tracks, NSMB Wii, Phantom Brave, etc. Hopefully with good reviews I can be convinced to buy this game

One of the things I don't like about this forum is you guys get me excited about games I never heard of But that's a good thing for me and bad for my wallet

This game looks so delightfully old school in its design. Can't wait to get my copy!
I really have to say that there are so many Wii games I want this holiday, between this, New Super Mario Bros Wii and The Crystal Bearers I'll have plenty to play well into 2010. Definately a stark contrast to last years... um... well they pretty much had nothing. ^^'
Future Wii purchases: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Zelda Wii New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sin and Punishment 2
I never played the original, but I love what the new game looks like, so more than likely this is something I will buy. Do you guys think we will get the original on the VC in October? It is great to see it at only $40, so that's just one extra push to get me to buy it. I am with Bahamut ZERO on this one...not gonna pre-order, but i'll keep a close eye, as well.
I'm mostly excited because I've been holding out hope that this will mean the original is coming to VC, too. Wasn't it ESRB-rated, or did I dream that? The videos of the new one look pretty but rather straightforward. I loved wandering the open world of the original and trying out all sorts of ideas before knowing what to do, but this level-based game looks like an ordinary puzzle-based platformer but with jellybeans. I'll just be renting it.

The original one was awesome. Granted, I first played it with a copy of Nintendo Power open to the world map on my knee, so if I hadn't learned the game's layout that way then I might be singing a different tune now, but I really did enjoy it quite a lot. One of my favorite early open-world games. (The original Metroid, as you know, left me cold, so this was quite an achievement for Blob.)
I'm looking forward to the remake even if it doesn't retain much of what I liked about the original. WayForward is a darned capable developer and I don't doubt I'll enjoy whatever it is they end up doing here. I rent so rarely nowadays (for the same cost you can just buy a WiiWare or VC game and have it to play whenever you want), so I'll probably just purchase this, but we'll see as the time draws near.
Just from listening to Sean Velasco talk about the game, I can't wait to get my hands on it. I enjoyed the original, but all of these new twists make it even more appealing.
NO!!! Not another game that I might want!!! Gah! I'm starting to hate N-life for making me poor, or myself for not resisting the temptation from these games!!
