Hey everybody, no this is not a "why are there no new zelda/metroid game's omg f#@! nintendo threads". I merely want to ask if there has been any solid new's on either Zelda U or Metroid U (name's obviously placeholder but you get the message).
I'd love it if you could post link's to interviews or alike if there are any.
Thanks in advance, Ben.

Not any solid news on either. The only thing we know is that Anomua really wants to challenge what being a Zelda game is.
He had an interview with ONM saying that Zelda games have been linear due to the fact that he didn't think players wanted to explore.
he recent Zelda games have been rather linear," he explained, "as I thought players didn't like getting lost, wondering what to do, or where to go. However, I've come to question this 'traditional' approach as I felt that we couldn't gain the sense of wonder that existed in the original Legend of Zelda, in which you made unexpected encounters and where what used to be impossible would suddenly become possible."
Given that his team are likely tunic-deep in the making of the next Zelda game for Wii U, we can only imagine what effect that's having on the his next project - but it's pretty clear that he's not afraid to mess with our expectations: "We will, of course, continue to question and reconsider the approaches we have taken in the past without any reservations."
So expect it to take ques from a link between world and possibly alot of Modern RPGs that are very free roam centric.
WAT!

Unofficially. Aonuma expressed how he wanted to show Zelda Wii U at last years E3 but couldn't, so it's very reasonable to expect it at this years. I could just imagine the outrage if it didn't surface at this coming E3, lol.
Well aside from Hyrule Warriors the new Zelda will be on show at E3 this year as for Metroid, who knows.
Has that been confirmed?
Not exactly but its pretty likely Zelda will be shown at E3. We pretty much known Halo and Uncharted will be at the show, and Zelda is the only thing nintendo has that stacks up to those two in terms of showmanship and technical prowess. Each show will probably go like this
Microsoft
Halo 2 remake
Uber Awesome Halo 5 trailer for Holiday 2015
Sony
Last of US port
Uber exciting Uncharted trailer for holiday 2015
Nintendo
Hyrule Warriors
Uber awesome Legend of Zelda trailer for Holiday 2015

At New York Comic Con (I think I was, but don't hold me to it), Aonuma said he would say more about Zelda Wii U at E3 2014. He said somewhere that he wanted to show a bit of it at NYCC but this was shortly before Link Between Worlds was released, so they needed to focus on that and they didn't want Zelda Wii U to eclipse the game that was coming out.... which makes sense.
It was also stated that they were going to show it at E3 2013, but they opted out as they felt like it wasn't ready. So that should say something about how far along the development is. I'm assuming we'll get a trailer or something at E3 this year with a holiday 2015 release.
Then there's always Hyrule Warriors.
Metroid....
Miyamoto said Retro was a high priority studio when it came to working on the next Metroid. Reggie kind of teased it at VGX. Retro is working on a new game (but we don't know what it is)..... that's all I got right now.
I wonder if Nintendo could get away with a retail 2D metroid game for the Wii U.
i would love it if they made super metroid 2 (ya i know super metroid was really metroid 3 but you get the idea) that was at least 2-3 times as large as super metroid, with the same art style but like super hd style, and a completely new set of moves/weapons, multiple planets and space flight, and maybe with an ending that doesn't start with a planet exploding count down.
There has been no news on a new Metroid coming to the Wii U, and as time goes by, I'm not quite sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. While I want a new Metroid, a lot of what's been brought up these last three years really doesn't make me optimistic about actually liking where Metroid may go next.
