I have to say, between the superb level design and the hand drawn aesthetic, the original puts Yoshi's New Island on the 3DS to shame........and to be honest, with the screen smoothing curtesy of M2, the game looks better than most modern 2D indie games.
Wasn't there also color correction? That definitely helps.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
I never owned a GBA, but I remember hearing about the somewhat washed out look of that version.........as a owner of the SNES original,I don't see any degradation in the color, if anything, with screen smoothing on, it looks superior to the original......the view is closer in, but at least for me, it's not much of a concern.
Metroid Fusion is the only GBA VC game I have on Wii U so far and in that game I prefer to have screen smoothing off, although I do appreciate the option. It would be nice if someone could post a side by side comparison.
