Topic: Work on your backlog!

I have bought games often for a pretty long time which has resulted in quite an "impressive" backlog. So I decided to make a list of all my games. The ones I hadn't played for a long time, or hardly at all, I marked with an x. It's simple I know, but it made me rediscover a lot of good games such as Assassin's creed IV and Child of light! Not bad for your wallet either!

I gave up on the idea to have a backlog since I play Monster Hunter.
Here is a tip if you have a backlog: DO NOT PLAY MONSTER HUNTER

I'm really trying to hold off buying more games cos I've got a clear list of about 6 games I've bought that I want to play. Don't know which next:

Persona 4 Golden
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Assassin's Creed 4
Tales of Hearts R
Kingdom Hearts DDD
Advance Wars Dual Strike

Can't decide......
Or maybe I'll just buy Legend of Kay instead

My entire Wii U backlog:

  • Splatoon (being almost exclusively playing the online modes)
  • The Wonderful 101

My entire 3DS backlog:

  • Majora's Mask 3D
  • Luigi's Mansion (this one is kinda shameful given how long I've had it)

Just a fraction of my PC backlog:

  • GTA V (to be fair it's a long game and it only came out on PC recently)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution
  • Bioshock (oh I know, I know)
  • Bastion
  • The Witcher 2 (barely even started it)
  • L.A. Noire (haven't even installed it)

... and then that again..... more than once.... oh look, I have funds in my Steam Wallet and there's another sale soon!

I put off buying Splatoon as I had bought a bunch of retro games that I really should get my money's worth before I sink hours into online gaming

Do not play Morrowind on the Xbox, as a general rule, you need about 20 mods to make a Bethesda game amazing and playable...

Wii backlog:
Metroid Prime 2 and 3.

Wii U backlog:
Captain Toad

And that's about it! When I was younger it used to be bigger, but now I try to complete every game I buy!

I got most of the way through Prime 2, then stopped after I lost 45 minutes of progress. I'm kind of nervous to start again, because the Prime games are those types of games that are amazing, but take a lot of mental energy out of you. And then after you're done with the game, you're afraid to pick it up again because of how epic and exhausting it was!

My DS backlog alone is so big I'll never complete it. And most of those are RPGs. The key is to try out the game and if you don't feel like it's worth your time to complete, then scrap it. Obviously, not buying so many in the first place is a good idea, but sales can be pretty tempting.

Good advice. I know at least one person to pass such advice on to as they buy so many games that only get maybe a couple of play sessions and never long enough to complete anything

I always HAVE to complete everything I buy. And by that, I mean reach the credits, because I'm not a super completionist after all. But yeah, if I hate a game at first, then I send it back. I'm not wasting my money on crap. But if it's at least decent with enjoyable parts, I'll still beat it.

Sometimes I lay awake at night and worry that I won't be able to finish my current backlog before I die.

But Crusader Kings II and Civilization V are so much fun.

My Backloggery.

There's a big stack of games that includes Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Monster Hunter Tri & Tri Ultimate. I think I'll start those when I retire... I don't have the time right now.

Unepic

3DS:
SMT4
Attack of the Friday Monsters

it feels wrong I've not played SS but I got bored of the Wii right when I got the game and now I've been playing ninty games again a lot it just took a backseat to Minish Cap, TP, HW and OoT3D. But that's the next Zeldy game for me....
Don't get me started on the Virtual Console things I need to wrap up or start on my WiiU.

My problem is I tend to buy a lot of games that are good to play in short bursts and then I buy the more time-intensive story ones that pile up until I get in the mood to put the other stuff aside and tuck in.

I got Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD as a freebie with the Mario Kart 8 download promo, never fired it up yet. I feel like I need to play through the original Zelda first and then I got the SNES Zelda with Club Nintendo points...it never ends! I could probably buy no new games for a year, but my daughter has the bug and I like to show support for new games of interest during their release window, so I keep building the backlog!
