The point is, the new release of Wii Party U really helped put the Wii U back into the competitive running following its supercharged comeback with the Wind Waker HD bundle pack in September.

By your comment, I was expecting something over 50,000, but eh, I guess it's still a pretty good bump up from the abysmal sales of before.

I don't think it's just Wii Party U, there was two bundles released this week. One had NSMBU+NSLU and Wii Party U and the other one had NSMBU+NSLU, Wii Party U, and Wii Fit U.

I had to check the biggest online stores in my country also, and suddenly almost all stores are sold out (?) of zelda wii u edition. Wierd. Maybe parents are grabbing the machine like crazy now before christmas.

Wow.... I can't believe there's still people buying Wii's.

Well with only a couple of exceptions, which pushed it upto 21k in Japan, the Wii U has been hovering at or below 10k in Japan since very early in the year. You right though, this isn't much if it can't sustain it or push it further. Good news either way.

Almost 40k is pretty good in Japan. Japan seems to have huge bumps for big games though so I wouldn't read too much into it. Wii U isn't doing nearly as bad in Japan and North America as it is in the old PAL region.

Just wait until 3D World comes out.

This is pretty good to hear...considering that Japan loves handheld gaming very much and the PS3.

Yeah, well it's not surprising that WiiU was gonna start taking strides into giant leaps & bounds. The reality check that the haters need to understand is that the PSCRASHBOX41 isn't going to break any records either because they don't have any appealing software that warrants a day 1 purchase... You would be silly to buy a $600 flop at launch

I don't know for sure... But one thing I do know is that Dead Rising 3 can't touch this breakdancing zombie

Well, hopefully it can sustain those numbers. If it sells 38k every week in Japan through the holiday season, it's still not doing great, but not outright awful.

I think by the end of this generation, the Wii U will probably have been a modest success in NA and JP. It's EU that Nintendo should be worrying about.

What people need to understand is that criticism isnt = hate. And it also dosent mean that they are PS/xb/pc lovers.

Ive had my share posts about what i think about the current situation, here on this forum, and usually people get angry or very defensive.
We who arent 100% happy, must be allowed to have our opinions and share them. And all my criticism comes out because i love nintendo.

Im sure Nintendo is super happy for all the feedback they get, both good and bad.

But by the same token, there is also a difference between criticism and trolling.

Yes, but how do you know it is trolling ? people are very quick to assume its trolling. When people got an opinion that isnt just flowers and bies, its suddenly trolling.. nuff said.. eh, ok..?

It's hard to determine true intent over the internet where all we have are words. No facial expressions, no body language - just words. And for any slightly unskilled writer, misleading words are strewn throughout any response, and will usually be interpreted in the worst way possible.

That being said, this is great news for fans of Nintendo. I do hope the console continues to sell well. It's a great system - I love it now, I loved it at launch, and I'll love it as more and more amazing software is released for it (I'm downloading Lost World as we speak). That being said, I'm probably still going to buy an Xbone or PS4 because I'm a "gamer" - I enjoy playing games. And to have access to most games, I need to own more than one console. If I could have my druthers, I'd wish for all three console makers to continue on with wonderful sales for the rest of time!
