Could someone recommend a good external hard drive for my Wii U.

Toshiba or WD with external power source.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

No need even for an external power source: use a Y- cable on your Wii U so it powers the HDD itself.

If you get a Toshiba Canvio you don't even need a y-cable....just plug it into one USB port and you're good to go.

I got a BUFFALO MiniStation Stealth 500 GB USB from amazon for $45 and a Y cable. Works great!
