It depends on the game. You can check the back of the box of the game to see which controllers it supports. New Super Mario Bros U supports both regular and Motion Plus. In Nintendo Land, all attractions except for Battle Quest supports regular Wii remotes.
If the game controls require you to hold the remote sideways, it's more than likely gonna support regular Wii remotes.
