Yeah, I'm starting this thread. There's one about Amazon price listing, but it's ambiguous in the title and doesn't really discuss much within 41 posts, so why bother bumping? This is arguably a different topic.
So yeah, read the title and answer.
Hypothetical Wii U KI expectations:
Analog stick/Wiimote controls - Both of these would work very well (if it remains a third-person shooter), and nobody should complain about the controls then, hopefully adding a lot to the Metascore.
HD graphics - Why would I not? Uprising is one of the sexiest games on the 3DS, so I'd love to see an HD Kid Icarus title.
Not being another port - Looking at you SF643D
More paths - There were a lot of secret rooms and some alternate pathways, but for the most part it was a very linear game. That's not always a bad thing, especially considering the replay value, but it still would be nice to see some more exploration.
DLC options - Nintendo has stated they're against "unwholesome" DLC. If they included DLC, then it probably wouldn't be trivial crap like weapons, which is a good thing.
Other types of gameplay? - Not too sure of this one, but it would be interesting to see a few sidescroller bits here and there in the game (although the TPS/Rail shooter parts MUST STAY)
The ability to carry at least a secondary weapon - Forgot to add this originally. It'd be nice to have a second weapon at the very least, even if it means killing a few achievements

We get new Mario titles all the damn time, along with new Zelda and Metroid games slightly less often. A game as amazing as Kid Icarus: Uprising deserves a new title, especially when the first experience runs only 9 hours. That and the control complaints (which I disagreed with)

Uh ya, i really loved Kid Icarus Uprising, but i really don't want a WiiU Kid icarus title. Part of what made Kid Icarus Uprising so fun is it was the rebirth of a franchise, a WiiU version wouldn't have that nostalgia. 3DS was enough for me, I want something new rather than another Kid Icarus.
"Love your ego, you won't feel a thing, always number one, the pen with a bent wrist crooked king, sign away our peace, for your war, one word and it's over." ~ Deadmau5
Rebirth of a franchise isn't the only thing that appealed to you, or else you wouldn't have enjoyed it (see: Duke Nukem Forever).
And it barely counts as a rebirth of a franchise when the gameplay is completely different amongst other things. Song remixes and old characters (along with new ones) are about all that really scream "Kid Icarus NES" here.
Jesus Christ people, is it so bad to do a little bit of wishful thinking? Hell, WarioWare: Twisted said there would never be a sequel and look what we got.

Sakurai is still alive (Project Sora was only meant for the development of Uprising, in case you forgot)
And even if he didn't want to come back, they could hire a group of people. I highly doubt everyone who worked on the game shares the same stance as Sakurai. If they handle it well, it'll still be quality gaming.

New weapon types, new powers & abilities, an armor system, different routes in flying levels, more areas to explore, greater difficulty range, crazier bosses, and broader amount of characters
Other people can work on sequels. Metroid Prime was made by Retro Studios, unlike the 2D titles. Same goes for DKC Returns. And I know for a fact there are several other titles which had different producers then the original game.
@0megapit231 Congratulations on being the first post to add anything. I'm not being remotely sarcastic when I say you should get a reward.

Only a single giant thing is kinda of keeping his full attention at the moment. As @Erica_Hartmann already said, Smash.
But I do agree with you that it's stupid that the Kid Icarus series gets only one reboot and that's it. I can easily see a "prequel" of sorts about events that happen during the 25 year "dormancy" between the first game and Uprising. For one, I'd like to know why Pit's wings don't work properly. Also, did Myths and Monsters never happen chronologically? Because nothing from that is mentioned at all in Uprising.
I stand by what I said in my own thread. I think the most likely route is for them to return Pit to his 2D roots, albeit like New Super Mario Bros.
Maybe a bit more like Shadow Complex, with it's ability to aim in any direction. I could also turn out more like Metroid: Other M. I have said it many times now but the gameplay in that game suits Pit more than Samus. Or it could be like DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Kingdom Hearts, Dante's Inferno, or God of War. The only thing for certain is that Pit is an action game character.
It'd also be pretty hilarious if Pit found himself a girlfriend. Palutena told him he needs friends, but this is probably not what she had in mind, and would most likely become jealous. Pit would say Palutena's more like a mother to him. Meanwhile it's revealed that the girlfriend is actually Medusa's daughter! Now they're forced to fight, and by the time both of them refuse, Palutena inquires into who the girl's father is, saying this reminds her of Bowser Jr and the Koopalings. Medusa tries to brush it off by saying gods can reproduce on their own without a man, and then she gets called out for being one of Zeus's many mistresses. Athena shows up and things get even more awkward as she's accused of being way too protective for Zeus's daughter. Grandma Echidna would make things even more awkward, being the mother of all monsters, including Medusa. It would also be quite funny to hear an argument between the brothers Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, about how Zeus was always the special one and all the other siblings had to grow up in the belly of Kronos. And if anyone says the word "party", you can expect Dionysus to be all over that like Jack Sparrow on rum, trying to get everyone to try his latest brew and trying to bait Zeus into a womanizing contest.

I don't know, I think that's too many references to actual Greek mythology. The series is LOOSELY based on it, not mostly. But you do have some funny ideas. And Pit having a girlfriend reminded me of another thing that's been bugging me. Are there any other angels in freaking Angel Land!? Dark Pit doesn't exactly count, and I don't think the Fighters are angels (they don't have wings after all). Plus, who are Pit's parents? Is it Palutena or something?
Id like A shooter like Kid Icarus Uprising, but with a jump button, twin-stick controls and more variety. If retro made this, it would be crazy good faints
