I understand people's stance on how the game looks but the bigger question is if we have to spend the first 3 hours of the game collecting pointless tears or not!
They're far from pointless, the actual task is just relatively tedious (I never minded it myself, but I can see why people wouldn't enjoy it. Hell, I hated the similar sections in Skyward Sword because I wasn't a wolf during them)
I'm actually hoping they streamline those a little myself. I always thought they acted kinda as introduction to the different regions and to point you towards points of interest within the world (stuff like Zora's Domain, the house with the boat minigame or the one where the lantern dude lives) with the bugs appearing on the worldmap and everything.
You're right.
But really, I love how people complain about not being able to explore like in an open world game, then complain about the sections that actually involve exploration.
Man, they sure saved the best remakes for last especially Skyward Sword the most amazing game of all time.
And Xenoblade Chronicles.
there i fixed it for you
Fix'd!
Your probably going to bash me for this, but i'm confused... do you dislike Xenoblade Chronicles or like it?
The NX is going to be delayed to Holiday 2017 you heard it here first, also It should be pretty obvious what my favorite game of all time is cough Skyward Sword cough

Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

I agree with some of the sentiments: So far it looks like they did the bare-minimum with the graphics. And we don't know what they did with the game mechanics yet (they changed quite some things in Majora's mask 3D).
Of course they release it AGAIN on a disc and ask 50 Euro for it (70 with the Amiibo). Greedy blighters, Sony and Microsoft release older titles in HD all the time....as downloads....at only 20 Euro's! And often they have complete series (1 to 4) titles on one disc, at a decent price. That's better then all those over-expensive retail re-releases from Nintendo. They just never learn!
I was hoping for a bit more of a graphical upgrade, not going to lie. But I am intruiged to hear more about the game since they said they were going to talk about additional features at a later date. I am very curious as to what they are going to improve (other than visuals).
Overall I am very happy to see this game be remastered in HD, the original game has not aged well at all. Not to mention that the new amiibo looks fantastic.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again
Seeing that the graphics weren't completely upgraded like Wind Waker HD's was disappointing, but it looks a lot less blurry, so I'm still going to get it again, maybe even with the Wolf Link amiibo.
Actually they've done more. TP needed retexturing while Wind Waker just took new lighting and filters.

Fairly certain the textures used are the original high-resolution ones created during development of TP just like it was for WInd Waker HD.
Uh...graphics aside, I'd like to see other updates to the game as well.
I wouldn't count on it... I think that Wolf Link amiibo will do something very minor, and that's it. Twilight Princess Wii/GCN felt complete, so what would an amiibo possibly add?
I think the texturing has been improved from what we've seen. I just think they need to fix the shading, lighting and to smooth the models so that the edges aren't so.......spiky? I'm not sure if Tantalus can fix all that in under 4 months though. We no idea how much is already completed or how big the team at Tantalus is. That being said the port that they did for Deus Ex does look pretty good in the way of lighting so hopefully they can improve TPHD.

You sure that's how Nintendo developed games in '06? And, no, clearly these textures are recreations, not the originals.
It could be both. It's likely the original textures back then were high(er)-resolution, but they might've preferred to remake at least some of them for better effect.

For Twilight Princess the textures had to be re-created. Wind Waker was a different story as all they had to do as uncompressed the old textures and re-draw certain textures that needed to be re-drawn. If you look at the footage of TPHD compared to the original you can tell that the game has brand new textures, sure the geography of the game is the same but this was true for all the other Zelda remasters as well.

Both the NoA and the NoE Directs said that info about other game features will arrive later.

Wind waker is cel shaded, while Twilight Princess is texture based. There are no similarities between how graphics are implemented in those 2 games at all.
For example: originally, Zelda's dress in Twilight Princess had no trace of any pattern in the texture, while it's very apparent in the HD trailer. That's not caused by HD/SD versions of the texture.

That's like comparing the shape of an apple with the colour of an orange.
Cel shading has nothing to do with textures, cel-shading means that shadows don't make use of colour gradients. You can have realistic textures on an object that is cel shaded. It wouldn't look very good, as the cel shading isn't a realistic style of shading, hence you never see that combination. Anyway, they have little to do with each other, as little as shading and texture mapping have to do with each other at least.
@Jazzer94: Now on to the actual argument. Twilight Princess HD does use different textures, they're not high resolution versions of the original, they're either highly modified or completely redone, with the originals used as a reference (or like @SuperWiiU suggested, a combination of redrawn textures and original high resolution textures).
