@renaryuugufan92: Eh, I don't know. The art style of Skyward Sword scales pretty damn well. If they were to do a remaster of that game you'd assume the textures would be slightly improved and the "oil paint" effect kicked in at a longer distance. But other than that, just having it rendered at a higher resolution gives you a pretty fantastic looking game.
Of all the dolphin emulated games running at 1080p Skyward Sword is the one that holds up the best. Second only to Wind Waker.
This game is totally just an apology for the Wii U Zelda Delay.
Even though Tantalus started working on this a year ago, at a time where Aonuma said publicly (on The Game Awards) that Zelda U would absolutely arrive in 2015?
Twilight Princess: HD is no more of an apology than Wind Waker: HD, Ocarina of Time 3DS, Majora's Mask 3DS or Xenoblade 3DS. Games with really long development cycles and lots of content make more sense to recycle, from a business perspective.
Personally, I think it's a smart approach to reveal TP:HD the way they did. Right now, everyone can just compare graphics. And when people get bored at doing that, Nintendo can start to reveal the other new features of the game.
Not saying he is right, but they might have sped up the development of TPHD. This could explain why they haven't increased the poly-count on the characters.
@Therad: Pretty sure that if they wanted to redo all the models, they would've build the game up from scratch, like they did in OOT3D and MM3D. I guess this was their intention all along, I don't think this is an apology. Zelda U is still coming after all, just one year later.
@Octane: Scaling models and textures are relatively simple operations. We don't know anything about how much they have redone of the engine. I would suspect quite a lot, since the shader model in the Wii was hopelessly ancient even when it was launched. The shader model was probably the biggest cause it was hard to port to the Wii btw.

Yeah I'm honestly surprised they opted for TP remaster over SS. Skyward Sword would have definitely benefit much more. I suppose they didn't wanna bother trying to map the controls to the gamepad though.
I would have gladly accepted a wiimote+ only remaster, however. That game looks too fuzzy and its visuals were really held back
Maybe Nintendo will show more at The Game Awards, I could see the new footage focus there being Zelda as both Mario and Splatoon are nominees.
I'm hoping they show more Zelda (TPHD & Zelda U) at the game awards like last year, if not then we know what we are getting in the January/February direct of 2016.
IMO, we probably won't get another direct until february at the earliest, if not March. Since alot of what they covered here should last until then. And I also don't expect any substantial Zelda information until E3. So they can finally tell us that it's coming out in November 2016.
I understand people's stance on how the game looks but the bigger question is if we have to spend the first 3 hours of the game collecting pointless tears or not!
The fact you are reading this proves you are able to have an attention span longer than me. Well done sir or madam!
@LztheQuack: same here but i really only preordered it for the amiibo
also how do u get the preorder bonus im confused... man should've asked when i preordered it
The NX is going to be delayed to Holiday 2017 you heard it here first, also It should be pretty obvious what my favorite game of all time is cough Skyward Sword cough
@Oragami: I say pointless because they act as filler collectibles for the opening of the game. What starts as an adventure to save hyrule becomes a discount Banjo Kazooie clone which is a poor usage of wolf links abilities. Plot or not they only stand there to be a slow padding tutorial that shouldnt be there. We arent stupid Myamoto.

Man, they sure saved the best remakes for last especially Skyward Sword the most amazing game of all time.
And Twilight Princess.
there i fixed it for you

@Koopa-King: I actually found the collection segments to be fun. They familiarized me with the areas in the game. I always felt very lost in snowpeak and the gerudo desert because i never collected the tears there (also because those areas are inherently easier to get lost in)

I like how people are complaining about the character models when disclaimer: just stating the obvious
OOT and MM3D: Link's model was updated because the N64 model was severely outdated by 2011/2015 standards, however the side characters models barley received any make overs and still look blocky. Also the geography of the games remained the same with the exception of the cardboard backgrounds being replaced with actual backgrounds and the ground textures receiving a adjustment in color/clarity.
Wind Waker HD: here we go.
Link and other characters did receive a polygon count increase however, their models were not updated and remain jagged and at times boxy.
Geography of the game remained the same, colors were brightened, bloom was added, as was dynamic lighting and shading
Anti-aliasing and texture smoothing did wonders to make the game as smooth as possible at 1080p Lighting, shading, and AA/Texture smoothing are what made this remaster stand out the most btw
Gamecube textures back in the day were drawn at 1080p but compressed down to 480p to meet GCN requirements, here they have been uncompressed for the Wii U.
Twilight Princess HD: same treatment as Wind Waker HD with the exception of new textures which replace the old muddy textures of the GCN/Wii original, lack of (and what people are noticing and complaining about the most, see why WWHD was eye catching above) WWHD's the dynamic shadows, some additional lighting is there as is a slight adjustment to bloom but nowhere near that of WWHD, of course because TPHD has a different artstyle and wouldn't benefit from the same level of bloom and lighting, however a moderate mix of the lighting we see and dynamic shadows would do wonders. So, they still got till March 4th and I hope we at least get dynamic shading but other than that when I play the trailer on my 40 inch HDTV there is a clear difference compared to the blurry, jagged muddy mess I get when I play the original on the same display.
I love all of these games but please stop saying the character models were updated, the only games that properly did that were the 3DS ones and those just updated Link mainly.
Graphics aside I hope they adjust the pacing of the game like they did for Wind Waker HD, we should know more about that soon in the next direct we get in early 2016 or if we are lucky at the TGA awards.
