My copy arrived this afternoon! And holy cow, the box is gorgeous. o_O
I never had any issues with Skyward Swords controls, and they felt more natural than TP Wii's controls. The only thing was that Link would sometimes hold the sword in awkward positions since I'm a southpaw. It made me wish that there was an option to change Link's sword hand.
Edit: Wait, I did remember a frustration: Thrusting the sword was a huge pain. Especially when it came to the Moldarach fight. I probably spent twenty minutes trying to beat it the first time around.
I got my copy. The amiibo is very well made, I appreciate it. The beginning parts are slow, but bearable. If anything it's nice to see Link live a normal life for a couple days before the game thrusts you into the world.
@Vee_Flames yep, if you press and hold a when in front of them you can grab and throw them. This causes them to get angry and charge after you, if you press and hold a right before they hit you you can grab and throw them again. (This will also stop their charging)
@DarthNocturnal I just tried for at least 10 minutes or so, but couldn't seem to be able to do it...
I really liked being able to keep the wooden sword.
To anyone trying this game for the first time, try to use the opening to get to know the characters, rather than just waiting for "the real Zelda stuff" to start.
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

When I tried to play the Wii version, I interpreted the beginning of Twilight Princess as a kind of "Hero's Journey" start in the Zelda universe. Compared to some of the genre's books (like Lord of the Rings) and movies (like Star Wars), I think the Journey starts very soon in Twilight Princess.

I absolutely do! Even though I tried to play the Wii version for a bit, the mirrored change makes the game familiar but still kind of new. And the HD version makes places like the Ordon village much more pleasant places to be in.

Yep. It's like it introduces a story or something.
Honestly, I swear someone is holding a gun to people's head to recite the party's recommended flaws with Twilight Princess whenever it gets brought up. I don't see why a square 5 hours of the game (opening + all 3 twilight segments) gets so much salt.
@Haru17: I'd say- in this version at least- the tedium ends once the Moblins attack Ordon, everything since then picks up the pace and is very enjoyable. The Twilight Sections aren't nearly as bad as some purport them to be, particularly as there are 4 less insects to get. I'm at the entrance to the Goron Mines with 4 hours playtime on my save file so I'll see how/if they changed Lanaryu in any way soon but almost everything so far has been great.
This had probably already been answered, but does anyone know if Hero Mode keeps all the changes made to the main game or if it is the same as the Wii version? I was just thinking after the debate between "easier" and "streamlined" after my last posts that since Hero Mode is mirrored like the Wii was, it would be cool if they kept it the same (no gate blocking the monkey at the beginning, still needing the original amount of Tears of Light, etc.). Then, anybody who wanted the streamlined experience with the added physical damage difficulty of Hero Mode could just use the Ganondorf amiibo. I highly doubt they did this, but if they did it would probably make me more likely to do ahead and sell my Wii version and get the HD one.
I really wish you could choose mirrored or unmirrored regardless of difficulty. I chose hero-mode for some sort of challenge but now I don't get to play the game unmirrored, which I've never done since I only had the wii version. Oh well.
Can someone please explain to me how to use the amiibo in this game?
I saved data to it and can load from title screen, but, I can only seem to save data to the amiibo FROM the title screen... not from the save screen while playing.
And I heard you go to the trials from collection screen? But nothing happens when I scan.
Haven't tried other amiibo cause I'm still a Wolf.

@JaxonH: From the sounds of what you're saying you haven't done the first tears of light quest which is why you're confused. Full amiibo functionality is unlocked either after you've done the first tears of light quest or after you've finished the first temple (not sure which).
