Okay, I never have used the Wii U's backwards compatibility as I've always preferred using original hardware for software; thus my Wii remains hooked up. With the Wii's eShop coming to a close, decided to grab me some Wii VC titles that remain unavailable elsewhere. However after purchasing a few I remembered about the Wii U's Wii Channel.
Been trying to find some advice online but no luck so far, so anyone have any experience of playing Wii VC games on the Wii U? Do they offer any real advantages over playing on the Wii (fitted with a component cable) or is it practically the same?
Just to be sure, I'm not referring to VC titles available on the Wii U eShop, those I know are superior.

You better use it.
Right now i'm playing Wii Party (Wii games, not Wii U games) on Wii U machine.
Also, after update version 4.0.0 , you can display Wii games on Wii U gamepad.
Real Benefit if you want to play Wii games on Wii U WITHOUT TV or if you want to take your Wii U outside, use Wii U gamepad as your TV to display Wii games.
@FX102A The graphics might be upscaled? I did notice an improvement playing Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City on Wii U, but I don't remember if I was using a component cable with the Wii. Pop in a Wii disc if you want to try and see, I guess. No functional differences, in any case. Also you can't use GC controllers even with the Wii U adapter for them, in case that's a concern.
@FX102A
Upscale to 1080p.
Wii games looks Much better from Wii U directly rather than from Wii + AV2HDMI with 1080p output.
Trust me, i had tested it.
AV2HDMI is better used for Gamecube games on Wii machine.
You can use ALL of your Wii accesories on Wii Mode.
Btw, i have never owned Wii VC so i can't tell.
Speaking about Backward Compatibility, i ALWAYS use it for every single my Nintendo machines.
I use Wii for Both Wii and Gamecube.
I use Wii U for Both Wii U and Wii (Only for Wii games with 16:9 support)
I use 3DS for Both 3DS & NDS.
I use NDS Lite for Both NDS and GBA.
I don't waste the Biggest Opportunity from Backward Compatibility.

You can use Classic Pro Controller for Wii if Gamecube stick cannot be used.
I think Gamecube cobtroller feels a bit awkward for me.
I feel comfort by Classic Pro Controller connected with Wiimote.
@Zyrac@Anti-Matter Eurogamer did a report on how the backwards compatibility of Wii games on the Wii U for PAL came with some deficiencies and thus I continue to play them on the Wii.
I did recently hear about the Wii Channel on the Wii U having controller restrictions (I like the original Wii Classic Controller).
My last tell is to give Ninty a little phone call and ask of there is any way to recover lost games on the Wii or Wii U (Wii Channel) if I record the serial numbers.
Either way, so far likely to continue buying VC games on my Wii.
