Turtles in Time is out of the question, sadly, or for that matter, any TMNT games from Konami unless they get license. I personally hate that, because it makes games available for very limited amount of time.

Nope. Due to Nickelodeon now owning everything TMNT I doubt we will ever see these games come to the VC again. Heck they even pulled the TMNT Arcade game as well as a remake of Turtles in Time off of the XBLA a few years ago. The only way you are going to play these games is via MAME, an NES emulator or a SNES emulator.

Yeah forgot about those, though I read somewhere that they emulation wasn't that good and some things like the music and sounds effects were missing or changed in those versions.

it would be cool to see tmnt 2 and 3 for nes arrive someday.

TMNT 3 and Turtles in Time were the best ones. Shame we'll never get them.

I mostly want my childhood favorite - TMNT III: The Manhattan Project for the NES. I still have the cartridge in very good condition tho. It would be nice to see that on the VC.
I'm sure Nickelodeon and Nintendo are led by mature adults so why can't they come to some agreement on this? Couldn't Nintendo offer Nickelodeon a cut of the VC/eShop sales? I can't see why Nickelodeon would just want to sit on the license and have nothing be done with it when they could make some money (especially since most of these games were put out on Nintendo systems to begin with).

Well it's be at least a 3 way agreement between Nickelodeon/Nintendo/Konami (possibly the owners of TMNT too depending on the terms of the license). As this becomes more complicated with a small market for the games it becomes doubtful the companies will want to put the effort in for the small amount of revenue that it would produce.

And then on top of that there is very little benefit to them all agreeing to it.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yes, the music was completely replaced in the Mutant Nightmare version of Turtles in Time. It actually wasn't that bad of music once you get used to it, but it goes without saying that the original soundtrack is still the best.
lol yeah right. theres like 3 of us here who actually buy games

This, along with Star Fox, are the two games I'd like most on Wii U VC (though there are certainly more).
It's a pity a lot of ho-hum games are getting released (and at a very slow pace at that) while some of the games that were very popular and wanted aren't getting released for the Wii U VC.
If I was Nickelodeon and Nintendo approached me about this issue...I'd have no problem with Nintendo releasing this on the Wii U VC as long as I got a cut.

Nickelodeon is the owners of TMNT. They own them the rights to every single TMNT thing. From the early 80's cartoon to the Michael Bay movie they own it all.

When the original TMNT NES hit the Wii Virtual Console, Ubisoft held the rights to games based on TMNT and did a deal with Konami for the re-releases of the NES and Arcade games.
I believe Activision currently have the license for games, so while it could happen, I wouldn't bet on seeing any Virtual Console releases.
